THIS is something my local cops need to learn unfortunately.. theres been multiple high speed pursuits through our smaller town where the max speed limit is 40 and they exceed 100. And theres been multiple police involved accidents too causing personal and property damage because they couldnt just let them go and search for the vehicle later.

@@ramong8341 so your logic is let someone shoot up a bank and once they get to speed in their car they get away with it? Who's to say they weren't in a stolen vehicle at the time? Now the cops are looking for a ghost at that point. Pursuits need to happen. There will be more crime if they criminals know they can get away with it
@ramong8341
@ramong8341 2 жыл бұрын
@@Deadly_dabber lmao, no my logic is when the public is in more danger than is necessary then a CHASE needs to be stopped. They can keep tracking the vehicle, especially with a helicopter and keep ground units informed of its location and direction and where it stops. But without having cops chasing directly behind them to make them drive even faster and increase the chances of an innocent person getting hurt or killed in the process. Theres better ways to follow a criminal than bumper to bumper going 100+ in town. THATS my point buddy.

The Autobahn has very few speed limitations and is one of the safest roads in existence. There are 5 times less accidents than the accident rates on the other German roads with speed limits. Police chases are also extremely rare there. I’m not a trooper but my agency does allow us to chase pretty aggressively. Even I would cancel myself from that early on though, when it gets to the point where you can’t maintain your lane and blow through red lights - you know you’re too emotionally invested in it. That’s how you get written up or you kill an innocent motorist over traffic violations. “If the juice ain’t worth the squeeze” are words to live by.

ASP has some of the best training in the USA right next to Alaska troopers. Their training is more like a military boot camp expierience and it much different than a police acadamy. That's why there policy allows them to do chases at high speeds and pit manuvers because they are the best of the best. Police here in arkansas are also well respected because they are an example of what police professionalism should be. Most of your high speed chases on this channel was actually ASP pursuits as well. Now I know I'm going down as a bootlicker here but I'm more a of the person wearing the boots as well and in my expierience, you want ASP to back you up because they are the best of the best.

I'm amazed, I've chased a few, but our squad cars top out at around 120mph even when I was a motor, KZ's couldn't do over 110mph. We would have shut down that pursuit due to public safety, at those speeds a serious injury to suspect, officer or the public is a very real possibility, not worth the risk. Then again we had air units up most of the time too.

this trooper could benefit from additional pursuit driving training. his adrenaline is exceeding his patrol vehicle’s capabilities by far. too fast on curves, too fast on city streets, delayed braking, sudden jerking of the steering wheel, no clearing intersections, i could go on… i get its almost 11 PM at night and traffic is low to none, but still very unsafe. i feel like ASP also needs to reconsider their pursuit policy, as they seem to be a little too aggressive, especially on this particular night over a speeding ticket.

Unbelievable, this trooper behavior is problematic. Speed violation only, this trooper placed others in danger. Clearly, this department has a serious pursuit training issue. No discipline demonstrated by this trooper, I would suspend him for couple days without pay and direct him to attend driving training refresher course. Law enforcement officers must exercise sound judge. His vehicle is a deadly weapon, similar to his firearm. No common sense!

I get the need to enforce the laws, but think this chase was way too risky. An innocent party could have been hit or killed at any any of those intersections. The police should have a protocol for all traffic stops to get close enough to read the license plate before the stop. Then if the person runs, you can cut off the chase and follow up later. I'm surprised that is not a standard operating procedure for all departments.

144 mph ain’t no simple ticket. There are a ton of other charges. Fleeing and eluding (at 144 mph that’s a felony). Plus all the other traffic violations add in some reckless driving (putting the safety of the general public at risk. A family could pull out and not see a guy doing 100+ …instant death to the family) plus someone who runs like that typically means the car may be stolen or drugs etc. won’t know since they never ran the tag but to say it’s a simple ticket is not the case here. At first (94 mph) if he would’ve stopped then yes. Speeding ticket and done buuuuut he took it to the next level. Got away this time. But he has to be lucky 100% of the time every time he does it. Cops only have to be lucky once…. Them are some odds I wouldn’t play with. Despite any of my skills all I need to do is screw up once or have an idiot pull out in front of me and it’s over.
