Dodge Dart - Fuel Door Issue

For everyone that needs to get fuel door open. There is a emergency release in the trunk to get the fuel door open. I have a video posted from about 3 years ago on where it is.

I wonder if this is a common issue. Our fuel door doesn't pop open anymore

my door won’t show unlocked when it’s open it’s not a big problem but the door doesn’t automatically lock it since it never detected it open

Could be a similar problem with the wiring, or a faulty door ajar switch which is probably part of the latch.
