FYI: You should not have reinstalled the carrier bearing heat shield, it's purpose was to keep exhaust heat from cooking the rubber. the heat shield is made of aluminum, and aluminum cuts aluminum, if it ever touches the driveshaft it will cut it. That happened to mine with the rear heat shield and I replaced it with a self adhesive heat shield from Design Engineering a much better product. But the front carrier bearing heat shield is not needed anymore.

I'll be doing my first driveshaft install with this same shaft on my challenger. Anything not mentioned in this video I should know? How do I know which side goes where? And what are the marks on the ends of the shaft for.

Nice video good to see you back. 👍. Question regarding these driveshafts. I had one installed about 6months ago on my Charger WBHC. I recently noticed a cling / tapping noise coming from the driveshaft area when I shift from park to reverse or reverse to drive. Is this normal to hear this ?

Tip: there is a bolt on the hanger you can remove and no prying it away from the rubber. There is a hook there so when you do unbolt it it will not fall. You just push it over the hook and it is off. Also easier to get it back on, once it is on the hook you just put the bolt back it

Great to see you back at it. One question about the heat shield. Is it really necessary to put back in? The location is where the carrier bearing was, the heat shield was there to protect the rubber and grease from exhaust. Since it's no longer there, is it necessary?
@SRTMUSH3 жыл бұрын
Correct, probably not needed. But we always just put them back, if anything so it doesn’t get lost or damaged sitting “in storage”
