To prevent corrosion, rust and oxidation on,relay pins, junction box holes connection or battery posts and wire or cable terminals apply dap of silicon / dielectric grease. So, add dap of dielectric grease junction box hole. Also, it will ease insertion & removal of relays, fuses and any component that has pins and or legs.

AWESOME instructions thank you very much. I have a question though. I just put on a bush bumper on my 2012 Dodge Journey 4cyl yesterday, and today I noticed my fan is really roaring but does shut of when the ignition is shut off. Would the bumper cause my fan to seem to stay on ? Looking at the car from the front, there is no air resistance really that would make it change how the fan operates so I'm stuck here lol. If the resistor burned out, would the fan still stay running while car is turned on ? Thank you again from the mountains (Kelowna ) of British Columbia Canada...

So the fan has 2 speeds. The resister determines the speed depending on the temp correct ? When you turn on the a/c the fan automatically go into to high speed or does it wait til the resister senses higher temperature before switching fan to high speed ?

Bridge Puente I haven’t confirmed this, I believe the resistor plays a roll in controlling the fan speed but the high speed fan relay is what allows the fan to go into high speed. In my case my fan wasn’t kicking into high speed, it stayed on low speed no matter the temp or a/c on or off. I couldn’t find the high speed relay at the time so I tried a new resistor and nothing changed. After a little bit I found the high speed relay and swapped it out and high speed started working. I opened up the old relay and one of the terminals was burnt. After a couple months the relay burnt again and both times it happened while idling for a long period of time with outside temps above 110 degrees. As long as I don’t idle it for for more than 5 minutes at those temps the relay doesn’t burn up. I suspect my fan motor is drawing to much current. But figuring that out right now is on hold since it’s not that hot here in AZ anymore. I have other issues I’m fixing. But yes I believe if everything is working correctly the high speed relay engages and the voltage is controlled by the resistor to control speed. But like I said I haven’t confirmed this.

ah well if in the same way my problem is with the high speed of the fan, the low and high relays are fine. Thank you very much in answering. I've been investigating and apparently that resistor is the one that determines the speed. but then I have not been able to confirm. I do not want to spend the fool. best regards
