The state couldn't just send me a sticker this year; for some reason they sent me a whole new plate, same number, with a new sticker on it. Of course one of the bolts stripped out. Thank you for this video. The parts & bits needed are a lot cheaper than trying to explain it all to my mechanic 😂

Thanks for this video. It helped be solve the same problem on my Journey. FWIW, run the drill in reverse when heating things up. I ended up using a 1/4-20 well nut with a stainless screw and anti-seize compound to help prevent this problem from happening again in the future.

The prying tool is available at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Couldn't find one at Ace or Home Depot. The expansion nuts are available at Home Depot.

At the end when you insert the rubber screw plug and say you tighten it up and it's a permanent fix...does it expand on the back side like a drywall anchor? Does it just stay like that in the material?

I think these expand in the back.

My bold is more flush to the plastic and I can't get the tool underneath. Any tips?

If I'm looking at this correctly, the bolt is stuck in the anchor and you're spinning out the bolt and anchor together as one unit, is that correct? If so, then I'm going to combine the tip in your video with the tip in kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3qnm6anqZtmrdU.
