Thank you so much! This is a great product for my Model 3 and for my Ford C-Max, where they only give you some rubber bumpers in the lower square fastener holes.

I had the same problem when I swapped mine out. Thanks for sharing the solution. I swapped in a black metal frame, but the silicone frame option is even better. I see that they have other colors, so once the black is back in stock, I am going to get it.

I ended up ordering the grey on Amazon, but I also ordered smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N4JLZYQ and the plastic parts were way too large to fit in the square holes. I checked my local auto store and they didn't seem to have a small enough size either - although they did have a smaller size. Can you provide the size or a link? Searching for 59700 doesn't pull up anything on the Ace Hardware site either.

Thank you so much for posting this! I'm not very handy & I could not figure out what to do with the nylon inserts - I thought maybe I had an extra/optional piece. And this is the only video I found that actually showed me what to do!!!

Just installed mine after checking out your video. I opted to purchase their fastener kit, just in case the plastic inserts on my car were faulty, but it wasn't necessary. I did use the hex screws in the kit, as the black matches the plate frame and my wheels (2022 Honda Civic Sport) and just in case some douchebag tries to steal my license plates (most folks don't carry around a hex wrench). The trickiest bit was getting everything to line up and I had to drill a couple of holes on the front mounting bracket as the clowns from Honda of Hollywood only secured the front plate with two screws.

Thanks! We have a 2021 Tesla Model 3 and the rear license plate bracket was falling off (only two fastener holes). At Home Depot, I found Everbilt #10 X 5/8 in. sheet metal screws and Everbilt License Plate Nuts #6 Nylon (in the fastener aisle, specialty fasterners, automotive drawer). Following your video, the bracket seems to be secure now. Home Depot only had one License Plate Nut package of two in that size, so you may have to do some checking.

@@MTNRanger It appears you both used #10 x 5/8 screws, but I'm not sure what size Push-In Nut Nylon you used. They used #6. Is that what you used too? Does it matter? Thanks for this video. How do you pull out existing nylon nuts without scratching? Thanks again.

My model 3 didn't have those 4 holes drilled into the body panel. Mine came with 2 holes drilled in the center of the body panel holding a black plastic piece. The black plastic piece had 4 holes where the license plate gets attached but there are no 4 holes in the body panel. How can I use this silicone backing plate because the screws are too short by the time you install the plate onto the silicone.

Tesla must have changed the plate mounting. I have not seen your setup. I'm guessing from what you describe that the silicone frame can be attached to the black plastic piece. But you will need different screws. What screws come with the Tesla mount?

Are those sheet metal or machine screws?

Ace fasteners are at Ace Hardware stores. Their website doesn't list them.
