Check your battery, terminal was loose on mine and would cause the locking of the key

Yes the battery is the first and most common fix and cause. The solenoid can fail and cause issues too.

Thank you for this. I just put a new battery in And then my van wouldn’t re-start after driving to the gas station. I couldn’t get the key out.
