Take a piece of rubber tubing that is slightly larger than the core, and cut a slot in it and as u insert the wafers push the rubber tube over so it holds the wafers in place

I use the key and slide it in as I go in. When I see it fits I slide the key back out and drop the next one in. Use the same method on stuck Honda ignitions as that's where I learned it as those are a PITA!!

Good video but a little to late, did a promaster ignition replacement yesterday rekeyed it to customer key. Tip: All odd spaces use the bottom ignition wafers all the even spaces use the top ignition wafers. #lockboss.

Instead of a rubber band, I use a dab of white lithium grease to keep the wafers from falling out so easily. Been doing it for years and seems to work well. I use two fingers on my left hand to hold the wafers in while I insert and test the key. #Lockboss

I would scotch tape a post-it note into a cylinder to keep the pins from falling out. Go 8-through-1 and slide the cylinder further up on each pin.

Speaking of lock cylinders, etc I had a 2012 Toyota High Security 80-89k series a few months ago I'm sitting on two keys for insurance because I can't find and lock kits and can't rewafer the door lock but most of all I need to also get the glovebox latch out as I need to replace or recode them. IF I get this done I can get paid. I guess I should've never took the part of recoding the door & glovebox lock on as I'd did the keys at the tow lot after it had been stolen. I tried salvage yards and they won't remove the locks from doors saying that when people order the doors they want the lock cylinders on them. I even told the lot I'd give $60 per lock as new cylinders for door are over $200 thru dealer if they could get which they couldn't and the glove box latch was just under $200 IF anyone if reading this and can answer any of my questions above please reply so I can see what other ideas are out there.
