Dodge Raider Progress And A Bit Of Wheeling - It Passes The Field Test

The 1987 Dodge Raider that Layton bought has made some nice progress. We didn’t have a chance to film everything, but we’ll go over everything that’s been done so far. We also take it out and test it over a couple days in different conditions to see how it performs and ensure it’s reliable, and we’re all extremely surprised and impressed with the results.

Nice to see a 1gen Mitsubishi Pajero (base model without rear coilspring) Those are very reliable and cheap to own almost anywhere in the world!

There was little overlap in the US market between the 2.6l leaf sprung truck and the 3.0 V6 coil sprung model. So, there was not much choice for buyers as the (few) model years for the two door went on. It started in the US as an 83 model but didn't sell much until 87, for whatever reason, and the V6 did become available in the 88 model year. By 89, I don't think the 2.6 was an option here.

These early Pajero s are great. They can be easily made better. They turbocharge well. Look at Australian sigma turbo set ups. The gearbox upgrade to the 92- superselect box but not the 94--99 its alloy case and breaks easy. The 92 v6 us a heavy steel case / canter truck box design. Use the 88/90 v6 diff housing to allow the bigger diff . Ratios can be from 92-2012 Pajero or the triton 2006-2020 . Front brakes can be swapped out for latter twin puston or later 4 piston Pajero. I like the Australian ARB fiberglass fender flares and 94/95 alloys . Also Australia gets great bull bars

They are great vehicles if they were treated right. This one with the 2.6L 4 cylinder has been through hell and back and never stops running with as many issues as it has, and the automatic transmission shifts smooth as can be. I can’t personally speak for the V6 however.

I have diesel Dodge raider on Vancouver Island and I am selling it and I can add Mitsubishi Pajero 1987 but no engine price for bought 13500$
