I find these less common rigs more interesting than the latest Jeep/4Runner/Bronco. Though I like those too.

I have an '87 Montero which looks very similar to this, but is in near perfect condition. Found it in Pahrump, NV, now it lives in California. Just did my first offroad adventure with it and it kept up with a bunch of crazy Jeeps no problem. Adding a rear air-lock, larger tires, bigger lift and a winch. Mine is a 5-speed. I had a 2021 Bronco 2-door on order, but cancelled it when I found this Mitsubishi! No regrets!

I just ran into him in Moab last month! He crushed Fins and Things in that Raider! Great little rig!

The manual hubs aren't too hard to come by. The Aisin part number is FHM-002. There's 3 available on Amazon right now. Please let him know in case he's still looking. I ran them on my G1 LWB and my G2.5 and they work great! Amazing vid and good to see the little Raider/Monty getting recognition in a Toyota-filled world 🤣😁

I’m convinced that the only difference between van life people and the homeless is the level of organization in your vehicle.

My Mom bought a Red one in 88 and it was handed down to my brother who blew the engine running low on oil. The inclinometer was so cool as a kid. Looked for a good used engine for awhile but eventually gave up on it.

I have a 1990 V6 Shorty Pajero. 100,000 miles, 5 speed, LSD rear, perfect interior aside from drivers seat. Factory bull bar, and flares. Running 31 inch BFG Mudders. I use it as a daily. Still has the original 2DIN tape deck. It’s perfect off-road, goes most places. My Discovery 2 went around Aus, way more comfortable, but the Paj is more fun. It’s actually great in the city, good turning radius, and with the bullbars, I don’t worry about all the terrible parking in the city I live in. 15l/100km economy.

Forgotten? More like unknown. The Montero/Pajero was much more popular.

In NZ we call these Pajero's. They are underrated trucks and will keep up with almost anything on the tracks. Rust has claimed many of the earlier versions but it gets even worse,,,,,,, since Nissan acquired 34% of Mitzi,,,, they have discontinued the mighty Pajero/Montery from 2021. 2022 will find most Mitzi's as badged Nissans and l am not looking forward to this. Nissan is currently destroying Mitsubishi until the badge is put to rest. Shame on Nissan.

I had one of these from 1990 to 1996. I still miss that vehicle, I have never seen another V6 Dodge raider, other than the one that used to stay in my driveway. Great video!
