Dodge ram Cummins, Inside view of the coolant Reservoir

A brief description and viewing of how the Coolant reservoir and sensor work together. Please see my other video for the testing and fix of your coolant low level indicator always being on. Many Dodge trucks have this same reservoir. Should be dodge trucks from 1500 to 5500 and the years from 2013 to 2018. but this particular one came out of a 2014 Dodge Ram Cummins turbo diesel. Just to let you know, I don’t know what particular truck you have, but I found it easiest on the one I did to drop the tank out through the fender well. another words, remove the tire, take that plastic fender liner out and drop it down through there instead of trying to get it out the top. Hope that helps.

Great video Chuck. So now that you show what the inside of the reservoir looks like, I dont think there is any way to flush the crap out, only replace. Is that correct?

Very true, the tank gets stained and the magnet loses its strength, so it’s always best to replace the tank. If the sensor is testing good
