I have had lug centric spacers on my 1985 D-250 with 2012 Dodge wheels for 6 years. No issues.

I got the same rims for my ‘87 d100. I seen your video how have the spacers been holding up? I can’t find hub centric spacers for mine so I’m going with the spacers you got just going 1 1/2
@CarlsonsCustoms6 ай бұрын
I can’t really answer how they have been holding up because I have yet to drive the truck. Long story. But I have used lug centric spacers on other cars without an issue. If I were to do it over again I would go with 1 1/2” on the front and 2” on the rear. Good luck and let me know how it turns out!

If you just pop the studs out and mill a 1/6 off of the hub with a brake lathe, you can fit most any wheels you want on this truck. I will be posting videos soon.
I just bought a 84 ' Dodge Ram D150. Went to Discount tires and their system says it takes 5x5 bolt pattern. The computer system is wrong. The 84' model bolt pattern is 5x114.3 I hope that helps.

Hey John, that's interesting...and confusing LOL. For some reason I thought '86 was when Dodge went from the 5x4.5" (5x114.3) to the 5x5.5" (5x139.7). Which would make your remark correct. However, I just looked at a couple of websites and they show it happened in '81 which would match with the body style update. I think Tom Damon might have summed it up best when he said Dodge did unusual things back in the day. Anybody else know for sure???

@@CarlsonsCustoms I couldn't agree with you more. Very vague on the information. I did put American Racing Torque Thrust 15x10. All I do know is a 84' for sure is 5x114.3 God bless America!🇺🇸

@@CarlsonsCustoms my 1983 has the 5x4.5 pattern it's hard to find wheels that have the correct center bore

Your giving wrong information! 1984 was the last year for the 5 on 4.5 pattern 1985 went to the bigger pattern! Not 1981.

Good video I just finished 5.7l swapping and wanting to change wheels do u have the info on what adapters you used I hate buying the wrong parts and your way clearly works lol

Hello Bryson. I so wish you had a video of your 5.7 swap. That is what I'm wanting to do to mine! As far as the spacers I used I will include a link, but just incase that doesn't work I got them on Amazon. They are called "Rock Trix 4pc 2" thick 5x5.5 to 5x5.5 bolt pattern with 1/2" studs. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ATVFAOQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Good luck!!

I ran into a similar problem with hub diameter trying to mount 16" Dodge wheels onto my mid 80s F150. Aluminum wheels are easy to machine. I've done it at home with a straight cut router bit. Steel wheels aren't so easy. A machine shop can do it with a boring bit, but it wouldn't be cheap. Spacers are the way to go, but another option could be too turn down the hub diameter. The rear axle isn't always a problem. But that doesn't take care of back spacing problems.

Right on Kevin. Thanks for the input, I appreciate the other options for more folks like us to have when they run into this. 🙃

FYI, Dodge did some unusual things with their wheel/tire combo's back in the day . different series trucks (d150, w150 , d250 , w250 ) all had different wheel/tires . Event in the same series there could be differences depending on weight capacity . Example : towing or camper or plow packages . I , however , am not a fan of wheel adapters . In your case it seem doable . Good luck !

Thanks Tom for the info. I know I was confused when I had run certain wheels on certain trucks without an issue, or had seen similar trucks running the same wheel. "Its always something" should be my life's moto.

If anyone gives you crap about lug-centric wheels, please make them aware that approximately 100 million factory cars for the last 100 years are made lug-centric......lol. And those front wheels look fine as is. Remember....it's just a Dodge!!! :)
@CarlsonsCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Wayne. You know, the more I think about it, I think you are right about the lug-centric. Hmm Appreciate your opinion on the front wheel spacing. Yeah, "its just a Dodge"....I'm just thankful that its not a Chevy!! : P
