You also can look into looking at fuse #9 on the panel inside the truck! I had this exact same issue and fuse #9 was blown.

Yes you can still get the codes it’s only saying go that because the solenoid in the transmission govenor solenoid completes the ecm circuit

Had this issue also the parts were faulty but not the whole fix.... finally found a broken snap for the ecm left plug... guess it rattles and shorts in the pins

Mine was the actual computer. Got hot, and wouldn't work. I slapped the old one in and I'm back up and running.

My 1998 Durango won’t start the gauges won’t work neither will the mpg. The security light is on and the fuel light too but I don’t get a no bus code I just get 920 921 that’s what led me to this video and at this point idk if I’m having a related problem to yours or not but every video I watch Ect won’t work

It’s a security issue, it locks out the starting. And will do that, the no bus on a Durango is because of something weird like a possible ignition switch , that would cause all that sometimes

Your dead on bro my buddies 2000 Dakota 4.7 would throw no bus and the check engine light was on all the time and I cleaned every ground wire location and changed the transmission solenoid pack and the check engine light is gone BUT NO BUS came back and come to find out the ecm has very weak soldering inside it so as it gets hot the solder breaks n when it cools down it reconnects so I back fed 5v to the computer through the throttle position sensor truck runs all day long now and NO CHECK ENGINE light 💪💪💪💪💪💪👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thank you

You just saved me so much time and time is money again thank you had my tranny installed with a rebuilt had it back 3 weeks to date for the last week I'd drive idk 13 miles or so 20 maybe and it would shut off mid drive at 45 mph .. let it cool or sit and fire back up

Your welcome, but if it’s doing that it sounds like your transmission line is kinked/ or blocked , if you change the solenoid make sure you change the transmission filter as well otherwise your wasting your time

My 01 1500 no bus light started after I changed the alternator and ignition switch I put a new coil pack then I get a no bus did one those trigger that? Thanks

It could be a fuse but also there’s a ground wire with a bolt attached to the ecm on the passengers side firewall in the engine bay, take the bolt out, cover with grease and reinstall, try that before changing other stuff , could’ve blown a fuse. But most likely that trans sensor died when you did that because it was on its way out, these are very easy to change and cost effective too

I changed the ECM a new one, Crankshaft position sensor, pick up coil, still no bust. Going crazy with this problem , I'll check this selenoid.

The solenoid is the easiest thing to start with, ecm is the last thing to go, if you have the same code that’s what is causing this, if you have more than you probably got a damaged wire

@@yusyp1699 no problem, did you check the main electrical connector that s in front of the drivers side can mount that I showed in the video? Sometimes the pins get rotted in there, easiest fix is cut the wire and bypass that plug

You have a loose connection. Try tightening that nut on the fuse box

Where do you check the grounds for the PCM issue? Also do you have to take the trans case off for this solenoid? 2001 Dakota

Idk about dakotas but no the solenoid is inside the transmission after you take the pan down you’ll see the same solenoid as mine, also older dakotas only have one ground that’s the silver/green wire right on the metal outside of the ecm on the pass side firewall inside the engine bay , same as the dodge rams I believe, spray it with chain lube , if that doesn’t improve anything , try VERY GENTLY loosening and retightening the screw holding that ground wire

I changed the governor solenoid and it fixed the problem, the gauges Finally stopped working when it completely took a crap

Your ignition coil sounds like it’s dying, spray some wd-40 or some pb blaster on the metal bracket it’s attached to (passengers side front of the engine) fixed my 2000 ram 1500 doing that, my old boss taught me that trick

If that doesn’t work then when you crank it(if it cranks) see if you have rpms I’d you don’t you have a crank sensor that is either dirty or going bad

Thanks for the video man! I have an 01 Cummins 24v manual 6 speed and the problem I'm having is, when I go to start it, it won't start then flashes 3 times and the no bus code shows up. None of the gauges are working. Have any idea? Thanks bro!

No problem, thanks for watching, if the gauges aren’t working it sounds like you have a main connection loose, did you try tapping on the clear part of the dash? Just to see if anything happens? If that doesn’t work I have another trick you can try it’s on my channel also, I’ll send the link , it’s the fuse box screw that sometimes comes loose and causes weird shit to happen , I had the same thing happen before until I tightened it here kzbin.infoKEjWJRIQKJE?feature=share

Sorry I didn’t reply sooner I didn’t get the notification, the boot on the fuse box holding the main wiring harness usually causes this issue, either that or see if you have power going to the starter signal wire , have someone put it in the crank position when you check it for power , or just jump the starter and see if it starts that way, mine started no problem with the codes so it was the transmission solenoid, I’ve seen it on other vehicles where the signal wire on the starter just gets rotted out on the connector, also I live in the salt states , idk about your situation but if you have power going to the signal wire than it’s your starter , if you don’t trace it back until it goes into the main wiring harness if you don’t spot corrosion then check the ground wire on the ecm on the passengers side fire wall in the engine bay , old dodges usually have very simple problems

I’m not sure to be honest with a manual , unless it has the same sensors in it , the only way to know is drop the transmission pan and see if you see similar sensors

2000 v8 dodge my junk will just shutdown going down the road seems like when it gets hot it will stall on you right in the middle of traffic and that sucks I can go out and crank it let it run and it will shut off then crank back up showing that no bus shit you think it might be the trouble you have thanks

Check the fuses on the drivers side dash also just in case the main ones are fine, I haven’t come across that before besides one time on a ford

I got it running it threw a code for my 02 sensor heater circuit voltage low and a bad/faulty pcm code p0601 the white connector on pcm will make it shut off if I wiggle it

I have a 2002 4.7 it will crank up and cuts off fuel pump brand new crank sensor new, cam sensor new, pcm is new. Any help pls.

If the fuel pump is cutting off, swap the relay with another one the same size and see if it works first as the easiest step, if that doesn’t work, you’ll have to see if you have power and ground at your fuel pump, you could have a corroded wire that’s causing the relay to kick off

Plug in your governor solenoid and see what happens,it should go away, when people do the swap to a manual it still needs to be plugged in , sorry for the seriously late response, just got this notification

Well typically the manual transmissions don’t have these problems because these are electronic solenoids that cause this particular problem

I have a 2002 that was auto originally and it got converted to a nv5600. I have these codes 900, 920,921 and 999. Any advice? I just swapped it to a ppump and want to get rid of all the codes it’s annoying to look at.

I’m honestly really sorry I didn’t have my notifications on , to see this message , but when you converted it , I’d the nv5600 a manual transmission? If so then just plug the transmission solenoid in that I showed in the video , tie it somewhere and it will eliminate the code

Did your truck run with the no bus? I parked my 01 Cummins changers vp44 then when I started truck back up after installing I have no cluster.

You popped a fuse for the cluster, simple fix, you may have also snagged a wire when installing, but at the very worse but If you did gently pull on the wires around where you worked to see if a single wire slides out of the sheathing, but that’s if you yanked on/pinched the wires installing the injection pump which is doubtfully the issue

@@AmericanRustWorker3369 thanks I checked fuses( both for the cluster). All good. I pulled both abs fuses one on driver side fuse box and under hood and I have my cluster back. I have had my abs and brake light on, on the dash. I know my abs module is bad. Didn’t think that it would cause this issue.

@@AmericanRustWorker3369 Tim yeah no doubt I was baffled myself I know those codes go to the transmission I took the governor solenoid out and replaced it with a new one', it didn't work I took the new governor solenoid back out put the old ones back in.. what made me realize it was the PCM. For a split second all my dash lights went haywireI really fast so I took a chance when to Amazon order a remanufactured PCM for 250 bucks with a lifetime warranty already programmed I installed it. My truck fired right up haven't had a problem since and that was over a month ago

The crazy thing is this is the second Dodge this happened to for me my first was a 99 ram. An at the time I never figure it out an sold it When i was buying the 2002 I have now I was thinking what's the chance it could happen again an it did I seen the no bus pop up when the truck stalled out my heart dropped to my stomach lol

Jimmy Childs that’s awesome you figured it out, Sorry my video didn’t help with that situation, but if the dash went hay wire then yeah that’s something definitely fucked up, I’ve never had anything major besides a P1693 death code on my cummins, but I found out there’s a little screw on the main fuse box that gets loosened up from vibrating over the years, it holds the main harness in it

Jimmy Childs that sucks that happened to ya, let alone twice, Keep the ground wire in the ecm covered in grease so it doesn’t get corroded, they might have caused the issue, other than that I honestly have no clue, never had any of those issues with my gas rams before I have a 2001 2500 gas and a 2000 cummins 2500 , the cummins was a constant nightmare because some kid had it before me and put a ton of electrical shit on it, my 01 has a small evap leak I can’t figure out, but it’s a 2500 so it’s exempt luckily, changed all the evap hoses, solenoid and small evap valve thing , gas cap do I said fuck it. good luck to you

Plug in the sensor on the harness instead of it being an open plug since you did the conversion , it still needs that diode inside that govenor solenoid in order to communicate with the ecm, even though it’s not doing anything it still is needed to complete the circuit unless you can find a dummy plug for that connector

My truck has the codes, and with all the research I have done I’m so lost on what it can be and I don’t know where to start, I have 24v and it just randomly shut off and wouldn’t start back up.

Does it still crank? Try taking the ASD (automatic shutdown relay out , swap it with another similar relay, seen what happens, if it’s doing that you got a pinched wire somewhere, If it’s got these codes or should still run, but also it might have corrosion in that main Connector under the drivers side fender, easy to get to, just unplug and check, usually a pin or two will get rotted , do those two things first and let me know I might be able to do a video for that same problem, I had that before on another truck

That wasn’t the case here bud, I never had a pcm problem, just because you might have ran across it doesn’t always make that the issue ,plus when I changed the solenoid it fixed the issue, plus my truck always started, just didn’t always shift right until I changed the solenoid on the tranny , also it can be as simple as a loose ground connection on the pcm for others

The reason people are telling you it was the PCM/ECU they are known for the circuit board in the PCM/ECM cracking and getting the no bus. I have replaced maybe a hundred of them so far and counting Your problem was different , you had codes and no bus since the ground was messed up.

Well the ground on my ecu/pcm was fine , I didn’t have any issue there, but I’ve owned 3 2nd gen rams in over 14 years one I had for 12, then rust destroyed it, never once had an issue with the gas jobs, other than the vacuum actuators shutting the bed every few years , and little things but my diesel was the only problematic one, the transmission solenoid communicates with the ecm creating the circuit which was a stupid design but mine still started, ran and drove but the transmission shifted fucked up , but yes as we learn more each day I found out there’s several issues that can have the same codes appear with different causes/problems

@Just Tim I thought you said something about it not being grounded or lost the ground. on the transmissions in these Dodges off hand I do not remember the years, the 4th gear wave snap ring would break. I have rebuilt many of these and then switch the fuild to Dex 3 and in my opinion runs much better. Rust is the killer, they just don't make them like they did. We don't need all these computers yes you can do more with the computers, I am just old school. I have a 2000 Dodge Durango 5.2 and went old school with it. Took all computers out. It was a slow project

That’s awesome, yeah the computers suck, but that’s pretty awesome you were able to make it a running project car without them, much respect to you. I agree completely, the body’s rot out fast, just like anything else in salt life, but those engines before 2003 ran forever , even after the frame is rotted to hell , the cummins i love because they’re so easy to work on unlike power strokes and Duramax’s

Turn key on while holding the black button on the speedometer dash and it hold it between 5-10 seconds, once codes start showing let it go and it will cycle through all codes

Old Croney's Garage ok so it doesn’t have any codes yet, if it’s running rich you can change one of the 02 sensors unless you have a scan tool, then you can see which one is causing it, also for shits and giggles hit the catalytic converter with your knuckles or a small hammer lightly and see if it sound solid or if it’s has shit hanging in it first if it does your cat is fucked, but i highly doubt that, even though anything is possible these days lol

Possibly , every vehicle has its own issue due to rust, corrosion, how well it’s maintained , those are the factors that cause issues

Yes it did, last time it did it there was just the screw loose for the main electrical plug on the fuse box , tightened it and it was fine

Just Tim I’ve tried that with mine, it all happened when I put some cheap amazon tow mirrors on then it started to act up.. ive tried all the fuses, pcm, cluster, a shit ton of sensors but now I’m biting the bullet and got an ecm for it should be here in a few day I’m hoping that’s what it is, I can’t see it being a broken wire anywhere I checked everything and it would be super coincidental with the mirrors possibly shorting something for it to be a wire

Brad did you try moving the black wiring plugs on the door? And seeing if it makes a thing weird happen? Or just disconnect your battery and reconnecting it? That’s pretty weird I’ve never had that happens before

Just Tim ya they were power mirrors, I went to adjust them and it started to blow fuses and then the dash started to act up and the no bus came onto the odometer I plugged the old ones back in and I could adjust them and no fuses would blow but I still had no bus after trying to clear the codes

No mine cranked and started, sounds like you got a bad crank sensor, it shouldn’t have the same codes if it is a crank sensor, check the plug behind the drivers front fender, and see if it has water or corrosion in it

Usually there’s a Phillips head screw on the fuse box for the main plug that usually loosens up, try tightening that and let me know if it helps

My brother truck has the no bus, it cranks no problem. When you had the no bus on yours and truck was cranked did your rpms move

My 99 1500 5.9 V8 stalls at random times sometimes while I’m driving or coming to a stop, haven’t seen the no bus code till last week when it stalled while coming to a stop then as I was pushing it and then tried to start it again I got the no bus code. Killed the battery after trying to crank it for so long (rookie mistake) then had a buddy help jump my battery, it started up ran for about 20 seconds then shut off. It’s throwing the same 3 codes, 920,921,999

Yeah it’s your governor solenoid, the black transducer you shouldn’t have to replace, use ATF-4 ONLY when refilling your trans (doesn’t matter the brand) don’t use any other synthetic crap

@@sdf1597 it’s easy, follow the video, you drop the transmission pan, change the filter, there’s 3 torx screws holding it in, remove them , tighten them up just slightly past snug, DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN you only need one hand to tighten them, filter will only need to fingers to pull out, and there’s 4 bolts holing in the transmission solenoid block , it’s silver, and very easy to remove, then there’s the same size torx bit screw holing the clip for the solenoid, (I’ll do a video on it) thank you for the view and sub btw , twist, remove the solenoid , Napa will have it for $90 you can go to Walmart and get ATF-4 very cheap, get the Walmart brand stuff, if you want , and just repeat the same in reverse, but when you add the trans fluid, get like 8-9 quarts of fluid, add 5-6 quarts, start your truck, wait 1 minute keep it running, shift slowly from park,reverse, neutral, drive and lower gears , repeat it in reverse, chock your wheels, place the truck in neutral and check the fluid, on dodges you HAVE TO check the fluid in neutral only while it’s running the entire time

My truck is doing the same thing. I started shaking the wires at the fuse box and was able to get the codes to go away until I hit a bump then the truck would shut down. Mine has the same 920 and 921 with no bus. I didn't have any problems until I had a trans installed. The trans shop said my computer fried so 800 bucks there then I head home with the new computer and the truck would shut down when I hit bumps. I'm kinda lost because I haven't had to do any work under the hood. Everything worked fine until the trans swap. I took my parts cannon to the truck and 5k later I'm thinking of buying a wrecked dodge and rebuilding it with this one. Or just let it sit

I’d be mad as hell, there’s a Phillips head screw on the fuse box that holds the main wiring harness down to the box, it’s rectangular and black, tighten that screw w/10mm head I’ll do a video on that sometime, tighten it it not too much, the engine vibrates it loose over the years, had something similar before except mine never shut down, hopefully that truck will help

@@AmericanRustWorker3369 I ordered a new fuse box yesterday. I'm not sure how or why but the 2 months the trans shop had my truck some how water got into the fuse box. I can just about bet that they left the hood up while it was raining. But please make a video on it. I've got 2 2001 dodge ram and the one that's broke is my baby. The other one is my toy not a beat up junker/muder. It's just a parking lot queen. Its funny I built her 3 years ago to be a mud toy but after I put 15k in beefing everything up I didn't wanta break her. So that's my son's graduation present in May. He loves that truck. So I'm at a cross road. It's keep throwing money at my baby or buy a new one. Something about the 2nd gens I like. I guess when ur 6'1" 280 pounds you need room lol

@@ketchupmustard5465 bro that place fucked you over hard man, omg, ok to clean up the water in your fuse box, just spray a bunch of brake clean on it, keep an eye on it, only use about 15 seconds solid of spraying, it will clean any corrosion, water etc, from your fuse box, never had to replace one before where I work unless it was a Chevy Silverado because those are complete junk, my old boss taught me a lot, he was doing mechanics auto, diesel for 43 years, he passed away 2 years ago sadly but he was a mastermind, I’ll do a video give me a few mins and I’ll post one for ya

Typically yes, these little solenoids are what all transmission shops rely on due to them giving dodge rams a bad name, they do that so they can charge $2500-3500+ for a used transmission, a lot of shops just change these solenoids, throw in a new filter, pan, gasket and save it, or sell it to another customer, no transmission shops completely rebuild, overhaul transmissions anymore unless you want to pay more than what it would cost for a already built or new transmission

1984 Chevy C30 6 speed would be better if you plan on racing it, 5 speeds will blow the transmission seals if you plan on racing it, unless of course you plan on getting a built tranny, or an Allison transmission conversation setup,idk anything about converting to be honest, but if it’s from an older Chevy before 2006 then it shouldn’t be that bad, just a lot of wiring and TCM to ecm planning and wiring schematics, trial and error basically, unless you really know what your doing, I hope for the best for your project.

Yes it did, just didn’t shift correctly, if yours or another person that has the same codes but has no start, try checking the fuse box video I did explain it that condition, otherwise it’s a bad ground on the ecm/pcm on the passengers side firewall in the engine bay

You’re welcome, if it doesn’t shift right and you have these codes it’s the governor shift solenoid like what I had, make sure if you do it to change your filter while you got the transmission open, the solenoid fixed my truck, went on an 8 hour drive this summer with no issues , you don’t have to get the expensive one and have issues like what I did, the ones from Napa or wherever you decide to get it worked for me

@@AmericanRustWorker3369 I just got my truck back from having my transmission rebuilt. The wire going into the valve body was melted to the case. I guess it got pretty hot. Anyway, it's fixed with the rebuild.

That’s terrible man, I’m glad you were able to get it fixed , that’s weird though, I wonder if metal shavings got into the governor solenoid , and valve body causing that issue, idk if you changed your transmission fluid , filter or not in the past
