Dude, I'v been worried about how much a auto trim company would charge to pull my headliner to fix the stopped up tube. Now, we haven't had rain in weeks, I watched your video, went straight to the drain grommets and scraped the ends and water started pouring. then I took a water bottle and poured in the sunroof trough and flushed the lines. Thanks for the fix.

Hi, thank you for watching/subscribing. Water can leak in from the third brake light on top of cab. I've seen many 4th gens with this issue. The weather seal under the light deteriorates letting water into the cab. - If you have cab marker lights on top that can leak water in. - the Rear and or front glass window seal can also leak allowing water into the cab.

Good instructions. Mine leaks at the right front because I park on the street and gutter in front of my house pointing down the slight grade and it also leans to the right. When I drive in the rain I have seen some leaks from both front drains but when level the water can go down both so the volume in each is less, and a partial clog may not let water back up in the tube. Since most of the leaking occurs when parked at home where the water wants to go down the right front, that is the corner that will receive all the dirt and pollen sneaking in with the water. Regarding the rears, no leaks but this 06 Megadually sits high in the back so the gutter water rarely wants to go that direction. To clean the ends of the rear drains, just bend a 1/2 or 3/4 inch of a steel rod 90 degrees so the tip can go into the nipple to break up a clog, if any. I think I saw a video years ago showing a design flaw in the front of the gutter that can create more leaks. One part of it wasn't made tall enough, so backed up water would overflow, like a spillway on a dam. The fix was to fabricate a piece which raised that area. But I'd wonder if it would spill over somewhere else....?

Hi, thank you for watching/subscribing. I have seen this problem on many different vehicles with a sunroof. Most of the time its just dirt and other stuff that gets packed in the drain tubes. Water will find it's own way if it can't go through the planed route.

I just want to thank you for showing me how to fix this it works perfect now.. It was overflowing into my headliner the water was coming out of my little speaker and the hand grip area so now I blew the lines it looks like it will be fine now thank you very much

This is a very common issue I found on many different vehicles with sunroofs. It's much more common when the vehicle sits outdoor under trees and such. Leaves, sap, dirt tends to clog up the drain system & cause this issue. I'm glad the video was helpful & you were able to fix the issue. I owe you a case of beer sir. I’ve been trying to fix this problem for I don’t know how many years on my 2006 ram I told my wife just put a towel in your lap that’ll fix it and lately I have had a bucket hanging from the door pillar, and in a half inch rain the bucket will get half full Now that I’m driving the truck it is more of a problem ha ha. Did not see were number three and four tube come out looking at the rear door pillar but don’t see any tube ends now onto the 2014 ram which is leaking so much water inside that it forms a puddle next to the backseat Near the door, also getting the headliner wet in the rear corner and dripping down in that area. On another guys video, he says it is the spring that holds the plastic piece up in the front of the sunroof there is a hole in the channel where the spring goes through and his answer was to pull the headliner down and put silicone caulking at the end of the spring under the headliner just check my two front hoses and they are full of mud on the 2006 ram. Hi, glad the video was helpful, thank you so much for watching/subscribing. Beer is accepted. The drain tubes plugging up with dirt, tree sap etc. is very common on any vehicle with a sunroof. I have never run into any issues with the "plastic piece up in the front of the sun roof". That is a wind deflector, I guess if the drain tubes are plugged and not draining as they should water will find it's way down another hole, so sure it wouldn't hurt to put silicone on the end of the spring. As far as the rear drain hoses on the Ram sun roof, they end up coming out in between the cab and the bed. I did show that on this video. Another thing to keep in mind is that 3rd brake light on top of the cab, they are also known to leak and cause water to run inside the cab. (seal for brake light can be replaced). Thank you

How do you clean out the back drains driver side is clogged

Hi, the only real way to get to the complete rear drain lines is to remove the headliner. You can try to shoot some compressed air or fish a weed eater line to get to the drain unclogged. The drain nipple between the cab and the truck bed may just be clogged on the outer end. Thank you

Not sure what you are asking? Obviously, if there is no sunroof, you will not see any sunroof drains. If you have a water leak into the cab issue and no sunroof. Thanks for watching. I would pour water in to the drains and see if that is when you get water leak into the cab. Drains might be cleared but there can be a crack/break in the drain line letting some water leak in to the cab and rest drains as it should. If the drain system on the sun roof is functioning normal and no water leaks into the cab while performing this test, then your problem maybe else where. Rear windows are also known to leak.

I have a 2013 1500. We had rain all last week and it was leaking badly. I tried blowing it out between rain storms and it just kept coming. I thought maybe the windshield was leaking. Anyway, was drying it out today in the sun and isolating where I poured water. Windshield was fine. My truck had been sitting level throughout all the rain and leaking on drivers side. Today it was leaning to the passenger side. Poured some water in the tray on drivers side and instantly water began coming down right in the middle light console. Looked for another hole in the middle of the tray but it was fine. I plugged the drain hole on drivers side and poured water in again. It flowed over to passenger side and I could hear and see it draining just fine with no leaking inside. Rain is coming tomorrow so I went out this evening to plug the hole till I could do some more research. Shined my flashlight in there and could see the drain tube was not attached about 2" behind the hole. I tried to grab it with some needle nose pliers and it crumbled like a potato chip. I'm thinking it was maybe just clogged at first. When I blew compressed air in it disconnected the tube because it did start to leak worse after that. Just a matter of time till other side goes. Dreading pulling the headliner out and trying to fish new drain tubes.

@@eddiesenn3005 Yes most likely it was clogged to begin with. I have used a metal wire or a weed eater string line to unclog with good and bad results like you have. Aging plastic does deteriorate, get brittle, start cracking and crumble over time. No way around it but replacing it. Water will find it's way down and in, unless it's routed out without leaks....

Water will find it's way. Few things to check if you don't have the sunroof front glass or rear glass seal. Third brake light on top of the cab can be another culprit.
