Nice pickup..for those unaware, the purchaser played Perry White newspaper publisher on the Adventures of Superman on tv some 20 years later, and of course his famous saying was great caesars ghost...damn I am old :)

John Hamilton was plainly spoken. Dodge was a better car back then.

Now car salesmen don't know crap about the cars they sell. All they know is how to do the paperwork.
@operator9121010 ай бұрын
Even that some don't know. Really getting tried of hearing salesman say "what would it take to get you into this car today?" How about building value not only in the car but also the establishment. Why should I buy from you?

And rip us off. I would rather have a root canal than go through the car buying process. As a matter of fact I did that once. I told the salesman that I enjoyed the root canal more. He didn’t say anything.

What is REALLY funny, John Hamilton never learned to drive a car. Any time he was shown driving a car, the car was either towed or he had a double. Check out the Phantom episode of Superman.

the Chicago worlds fair century of progress was held from 1933-1934 so this is likely 1935 showcasing the 1936 model.

Salesman is ben Bradley of Washington post
@noelroberts81999 ай бұрын
Are you sure, because Ben Bradlee of the Washington Post was born in 1921 and as this advertisment was made around 1935-6 that would mean that the actor playing the salesman would have been around 14 or 15 years old and that is truly not the case here..........

Chorus girls apartment? I don't understand that phrase. Movie stars used to start out from chorus lines that were run down

That's what she meant. The interior was of horrible quality.
@noelroberts81999 ай бұрын
That is the point, a chorus girls apartment most likely would be run down and not in very good condition, similar to a car with not as good apholstery as the Dodge......
