@BackyardClunkers7716 күн бұрын
If the brand brought back Plymouth: A modern day A-body styling influenced Fastback Cuda with the hatchback incorporated into it, plus a E-body designed retro look as two more variants of the Cuda- a hardtop & a convertible. Like how Ford made the newer Bronco it's own different model brand, but dodge do this with the barracuda/ Cuda. This could be the "mid-sized muscle cars", while the "Plymouth Piranha" could be the compact "little brother" to the cudas: a 2door, 4door, & 2door convertible 4 seater compact sporty Sedans to compete with the Honda civics, Toyota corollas, Subaru imprezas, ect. Make the highest trim level of the Piranha an AWD, supercharged V6 animal. Create a "Plymouth Sundance"- create this as a "Baby Viper"/ the size & theme like the Honda S2000, the Mazda Miatas, newer Toyota supras, BRZ, ect... long-ish hood line, 2door, 2seater, convertible FUN sports car, REAR WHEEL DRIVE, & MANUAL TRANSMISSION options. The Chrysler variant of this "Sundance" could be a resurrected: Chrysler Crossfire. I got a bunch of new styles of vehicles & ideas the Mopar company could build & would be successful.

The viper is ONLY V10!!.. put a hemi in it and call it the COPPERHEAD! Sell both the viper is the premium, and the copperhead will compete against the future Gt500s and corvettes. The viper will be going against the GT3 RS. Dodge brings back the neon (Dodge attitude made in Mexico) and makes an SRT-4. Dodge needs to sell small cars so that the government can get off their backs. If their hybrid programs aren't top notch. Dont make unreliable cars. Make a good 4,6,8, and 10 cylinder cars. I do agree sir that we should have gotten a Viper over the MC-20. My question is should Dodge try to continue to compete with the Vette given that in sales the Vette I believe has always done better than the Viper? I think the Viper needs 10 cylinders or more, stick shift, and a automatic option. In the current market if its priced not much more than the Dark horse and can trounce it in performance will that be a better target to aim for? If they put a V8 in it I think it should be named something else? Like the old Chrysler Firepower concept 😅 Great vid 🙏

Ferrari isn't a part of Stellantis and they would in no way share an engine with Dodge, they were one of the reason why the Viper was killed off if I remember correctly. @fadedsoul23 one beautiful thing about forced induction- the irregular length ports don't matter as much as -say a naturally aspirated engine. Although ideally: even length runners would be more sufficient. The Chrysler 170, 198, & 225 slant six engines had one of the most irregular styled engine & still was reliable. The "down side" to the slant 6's was the government mandated emissions & that louzey cylinder head. The non-Cross-flow head really hindered the slant six's power output. You give a bunch of gearheads & hotrodders the machines & softwares to create a badazz engine- anything is possible.

Ownership which actually cares about the brand. Dodge failed the Viper’s legacy by not making an effort much less fully dedicated towards being the first sub 7min American production car around the ring. Leaving it up to a crowd sourced effort and limited days was pathetic on Dodge’s end given the purpose of the fifth gen Viper ACR-E. Car was capable long before any GTD Mustang. 6th Gen would have to compete with the new ZR1, track wise why aim for the GT3RS when there’s a GT2RS. Challenger and Charger were long overdue for a new chassis. The recipe of throw more power at an overweight car was only going to get so far. So a ACR Challenger or more appropriately T/A edition would have benefited more from a new chassis and loose weight. Something to compete with the 1LE’s or GT-350’s around turns given the Viper was the last car they made that could hold its own on things over than a straight line or burnouts. Bring back or find new engineers who have a passion for building exciting/fun/driver rewarding vehicles. Build vehicles that bring back a meaning to “Mopar or no car”. The passion has left, the vehicles represent it, the consumers are stuck with what use to be or move on to something else.

I don’t care if they downsize it to 5L or so and up the revs or figure out a way to make more power (Lamborghini 5.2L v10s made up 640hp, which is 5hp shy of the viper that had an 8.4L v10). But I had to be a v10 of some sort. They can make a 2.5L hurricane based single turbo i5 for a different car (maybe stuff it in the hornet for an SRT5 model) and then smash two together for a 5L TT v10. If tuned right, I bet it’ll blow past 645hp of the previous viper. Could also collaborate with Ferrari and make an F154 based TT v10 or F136 based NA v10. If they were to do a non v10 midengine car, I wouldn’t call it a viper. I’d love to see it but I wouldn’t call it a viper

No challenger acr because of physics my ass, look at how hefty the new m5 is, it’s heavier than the challenger by a substantial amount, and it handles just fine. Dodge should team up with bmw or any German company tbh if they want a beefy v8 track car for the streets (especially Porsche). Dodge engine and design (so don’t worry about it being a reskinned German car) and let bmw, Porsche, or whoever figure out the suspension tuning for good handling. Maybe they can also give dodge tips for aerodynamics. To reiterate, because I already foresee angry comments, the only thing bmw/german about this theoretical track car is the suspension tuning to make it handle better. And maybe some tires and information on aerodynamics. They won’t have a hand in the design or engine. Because Lord knows those German engines tend to blow up
