Thanks Tim! We are definitely in an area with alot of raccoons and skunks. They love eating both chickens and eggs so we keep them locked up always at night. Often they get to run around during the daytime.

I have heard "intense grassing" works well. Not only do they eat every thing, but they are also not walking on every thing. This gives the grass more of a rest and a chance to grow.

If you're referring to intensive grazing, they do walk over just about everything, but only for a small portion of the field at any given time.

Do you need to swath the oats to harvest, or can one conventionally harvest oats with the proper header on a combine? My experience is solely with Red Winter Wheat.

Any wet “test bales” should be fed right away before they start to spoil.
