I heard one of the Dodger's executives said the reason they're renovating the visitor's side too is because,, "we're not playing checkers, we're playing Chess. Our main goal is to impress the visiting players to the point that they may want to play for us when they're free agent "

And people will get mad at the dodgers for this just because the dodgers have had recent success in the playoffs and have some of the highest game attendance in the mlb and they’re in one of the biggest markets ever not to mention the owners actually care about baseball any team can do what the dodgers do it’s their own fault they don’t

If they would to paint the seats Dodger blue instead of having those faded colors and also changed the screen projector to a bigger one and added something in between the seats pavillions instead of having nothing there then Yes players would be impressed. @@marcourzua385 The black tarp beyond center field is there because when something else was, players on both sides complained about a distracting sight line behind pitchers when hitting. No need for more seats. It’s already a large capacity stadium. The two screens are fine with a great sound system. Petco is okay, but zero nostalgia along with the least knowledgeable fan base on the planet. 30 MLB teams and the Dodgers are #1 in attendance. It works

The Dodgers own their Stadium (via the Guggenheim group) so they'll take care of their house as long as feasible and make it look good in the process. Tenant Teams *cough*the Diamondbacks*cough* will engage in the usual "20 years old stadium = old = want new house or we'll move" shenanigans.

I did the Dodgers Clubhouse tour at end of September 2024 and they said we were some of the last visitors to see the clubhouse. Everything is being redone per the tour (clubhouse, offices, cages, gym, PT, nutrition, possibly press room too). They upgraded the visitor clubhouse and installed visitor batting cages prior to the all star game in 2022 (MLB requirement). There are tunnels connecting all these locations to the dugouts and bullpens so that won't change. Based on the Dodgers always ending their renovations just days before opening day, I don't expect a fly through until then.

A quick internet search makes it look like the most obvious answer is that they are making new/improved clubhouses for the players. They've been paying Ohtani's full contract annually. Ohtani is only getting $2 million per year, the rest is deposited in escrow account audited by MLB and Players Union. The deferment only affect the luxury tax calculation and personal tax consideration. No, there's no huge bill due in 9 years.

I'm thinking there is an underground bullpen and some doctors offices, training rooms etc. Guys like Ohtani want to be able to throw while they are in the dugout area, and not have to go to the bullpen in left field during the game. It allows for him to start throwing as soon as he finishes an at bat, instead of only getting to throw 5 or 6 warm-up pitches (They only get 2 minutes) between innings. Basically, its like a private throwing area. They are common in Japanese stadiums, but usually they are under the bleachers.

Dodger Stadium has long been known as having one of the more scenic ballparks in the MLB, the BEST manicured field and the largest crowds. With the renovations shortly before the All-Star game they hosted back in 2022 as well as these new underground spaces would make it perhaps the most state-of-the-art stadium despite having one of the oldest stadiums. FYI, Dodger Stadium is the third oldest ballpark in the MLB (only Wrigley and Fenway are older). Dodgers don't need to publicly advertise their new facilities. Having these new amenities on the visitor's side actually show opponents first-hand how world-class an organization it is and how attractive it'd be to play there on a permanent basis.

I’m not in construction or hire for major construction projects, but I have hired vendors for 30+ years where the timeline of a vendors work was considered to be mission critical for my client. This is when a contractor’s history of completing projects on time is reviewed in detail and compared across multiple bidders. Plans for handling unexpected setbacks factor in (e.g., handling a collapse at this time, handling archeological delays as these must be incorporated in any major project with digging, etc.) would also be required and reviewed by an independent expert. There’s simply no probable way that this project is not completed on time, save an earthquake or other major disaster too improbable to work into the timelines. I also suspect that the Dodgers marketing team is working on a video to share but will only do so when it is done so as to not freak out fans regarding their ability to complete this project on time.

It won’t take too long. Those walls will be poured and stripped in about two weeks. Then they’ll immediately start forming a deck over the opening this will take five days to deck then 5 days for MEP and rebar. It will pour in one day, then strip 7 days later. The walls will be waterproofed while the deck is being built, then backfilled with dirt after the deck pours. The backfill should only take about 3 days. Not very big at all.

The apparent similarities in size between both excavation sites lead me to believe that the project might be to expand fan amenities in some way (i.e. restrooms, merchandise or food concessions, etc.).

Yes, it is interesting. Fortunately, teh construction only needs to complete the roof and then replace the playing surface. The internal portions of the structure can be completed later. In fact, I'd assume that is the case.

It's new clubhouses 4 the players, also it's 2 stories, Dodgers side will be done 4 the start of this season, supposedly... visitors side will be finished & ready 4 the 2026 season... Forgot where I found the information but it's out there if u wanna find out... If u get a peak with construction workers in the pits, they look tiny, those pits are huge!!!!!

Let me try & find where I saw that info, it'll take a hot minute but I'll try... Edit: ok, found it... guess it was a video, guy doing the video is in dodger stadium, gives up close views of the pits & gives info/dates on the construction written at the bottom of the screen, but yea, it's def unofficial but even if it's speculation, seems believable enough...

The interior area may not be ready for the start of the season. They'll get the ceiling put on and finish the interior during the season. This is new square footage and they probably have the old clubhouse intact.

This probably isn't part of his recruitment, but this will be one of the main reasons why Roki could pick the Dodgers due to this huge investment in the team's clubhouse. I see why the Dodgers been quiet about this project as Roki want his meetings to be private as well.

The Dodgers are way ahead of the game. My guess is they are building the new parallel Dodger Stadium right before our eyes. It will be built on the same footprint as the current stadium with an even larger seating capacity. Dodger Stadium is the largest stadium in MLB seating 56,000. And they fill them. Since they average almost 4,000,000 fans per season, more seating will offset some of the payroll. I can see the new Dodger Stadium seating between 58,000 to 60,000! So the infrastructure for the new stadium is already being put down with new sections phased in. Oh, those tricky Dodgers. Who knew!😮🤔🤫

Every time I go the Dodger Stadium it always looks brand new. This place is easily the best baseball stadium in America if not the world. It is a perfect compliment to SoFi Stadium down the freeway a few miles in Inglewood. LA amazes me every visit.
