That's so true. Up in the Santa Cruz mountains, I'd turn on to LA station very late at night, when the signals traveled farther, and listen to Vin talk "deuces wild at Dodger stadium". 10 years old and I'd fall asleep, dreaming of baseball. A simpler, more humble time. None of the showboating you see today-- true respect for the game.

Too bad Mr. Aaron passed away the way he did. Didn't have to in my opinion. He looked darn healthy even at 86. But then publicly took that "covid" vaccine to show his people it was safe (when it really wasn't). Then two weeks later dies in his sleep. Shortly after that my best friend died the same way within a month of being vaxxed. It was a sad year for me losing a sports hero then a close friend. Made me mad as hell too. The interesting thing is that at the beginning of the video, both Vin and Willie move and speak like what they are , two very old men. But as we get deeper into the conversation, we can watch the years fall away and they both become more and more animated, almost (but not really) to the point that I'm waiting for Willie to tell Vin "Well, nice chatting with you. Ruth never played night games. Ruth never flew on transcontinental flights to play. Ruth never played against great black and Latino players. Ruth didn't play against relief specialists. Ruth had Gehrig hitting behind him. Ruth had a ballpark built to allow him to hit HRs, Mays played in two of the worst hitters parks in baseball history. Ruth didn't lose two years in his prime to military service. Ruth was poor defensively...Willie was one of the greatest defensive players in baseball history. Ruth couldn't run the bases well, and was no where close to Willie as a base runner. Ruth never had to deal with racism. I could actually go on for many more....but you get the point. Mays couldn't pitch. But Mays was - by far - the greatest 5 tool player in baseball history. You're the fool, internet tough guy.
