Or trade for Elle de la Cruz, under team control and save vs Adamas. The dodgers have the prospects to get de la Cruz. Package Lux n Outman, with Cartaya (Smith, Barnes and Rushing have C covered for years), and Casperius (we have pitching covered).. imagine the 1 thru 7 line up with the Rushing/Pages 8th, Edman 9th.. 🤞 for Roki.

I'm pretty sure I've heard that whole thing was misread. The article never said the Dodgers made that offer but said that they were still in the mix. People have already deleted tweets saying they offered him 600M because no one read the article correctly.

Juan Soto is an easy contract for Dodgers. 2M for 15 years and 670M deferral after 2040. The contract totals 700M.

I want my super high paid stars to actually have more facets of their game. Mookie has many tools, Ohtani has many tools, Freddie surprisingly runs the bags well despite his relatively low speed and is a good 1B defensively. I keep beating the same drum, but Soto is NOT an outfielder, he's not a first-baseman. He's a traditional designated hitter, and that's where he is best suited. He might be able to get away with some small outfield corners like left field in Boston or right field in Yankee's stadium, but ideally, DH for life. We have a DH who also pitches. Pass.

Now is the best comment! It demonstrates how most Dodger fans have no idea how good Soto is. He is MUCH better than Harper in WAR, OPS+. He is 6 years younger than Harper. So if Harper is worth it now at 32... than Soto is worth much more at 26. His everyday numbers and consistency is hard to wrap your head around. Anyone has the Soto's camp number? need to make a call so they take out the Dodgers off the run. The Dodgers shouldn't chase names just for the sake of it and it's proven they simply don't need him. I do think this would be bad for the sport since it would be a clear hoarding of stars instead of signing them when needed. It's not a disservice since they can be better getting back their FA's and another OF or a SS or pitcher(s).
