@@fishin4bogey not a silly question bro, but it's for throttle response, it takes the lag out your car, as soon as you hit the gas immediate response. It's like the pedal commander and Sprint booster.

@@fishin4bogey A waste of money. All it does is grab the signal from your TP and modify it, say you press the pedal by 10%, it tells the PCM your pressing it 20%. You can do the same thing with a Tune, or a Transformer (plus alot more) or just pressing the pedal harder. Its a marketing Genuis, 15 dollars in electronics with a 300 dollar price tag, but the Placebo is strong. They say, or people think, it reduces lag, it increases power, increases acceleration. It does none of that, it only manipulates the values so when you barely press the pedal, its registering more than you pressed it, so you feel like the car is faster for the same press as before, because it is like your pressing it further, 100% Placebo effect.

When I get my scat, I'll be putting dried sulfuric acid glued to a medium which will be removable. If they sit on the seat, in about 10 second the acid will burn through the jeans and make contact with skin. You then feel a sharp sting. By now the acid has eaten through your skin and has contacted nerve pain receptors. The rest is for a plastic surgeon to fix. 😝

I also read about that software upgrade a week or so back, and I thought to myself, It seems that all they're doing is having you put the car in VALET mode. I actually tried it (putting it in Valet mode) while parked at Walmart a few days ago.

The difference is in Valet mode you can still drive the car away.. this further restricts it to essentially walking speed

@@RacerX9 Correct. I currently use the Valet mode for extra security anytime I'm parking in a lot. Ive actually driven off several times and forgotten to switch it off. You don't really notice it until you get on a main road when it doesn't have the power. It still runs at highway speed, just more like a 6cyl car instead of a big V8.

It won’t stop them entirely but it’s a fairly safe bet that thieves want a quick in and out. The relay/repeater issue can be somewhat prevented by simply unplugging the passive entry buttons. No power to the button and therefore the handle means that even if they grab the code from your fob the door won’t open. Yes they can still break a window but most won’t. This also works for the exterior trunk release.

A better solution might have been to produce a new keyfob that has a motion sensor inside it so that when you get home and leave the keyfob sitting on a shelf or inside your coat pocket or purse, it deactivates/sleeps and won't transmit. That way, those repeater boxes can't work to start your car. When you pick up your keyfob or put on your coat and start moving it around, it wakes up all by itself and your good to go. No PINs, no thefts, no problems.

This should apply to any vehicle that has the push button start. My 2010 SRT8 was like 50 grand when purchased, has less than 50,000 miles on it, 6 spd manual, hard loaded with every option. Might not be a Hellcat or Demon but it is still an SRT and boogies.

I got a 2016 scat and I disabled the keyless entry through the evic so that sensor isn't running 24 7.....they would have to be standing next to the car when you hit the fob to get in now I believe....

Another good theft protection device is to buy a manual lol. That’s the ONLY way I’ll buy a challenger ever again. I wanted to give dodge another try after trading in my challenger 4 years ago but getting a manual widebody challenger was like finding a unicorn. Plus having a mopar in Atlanta is just asking for problems now days.

My dealership didn’t have access to this update, and Dodge kicked the can down the road on this as they said it’s been put on hold indefinitely. My car was just stolen via a Repeater Box, and they took my car without the damn key fob. I’m not getting another one of these cars, so I just got an Infiniti Q50 Red Sport where the key fobs and system is encrypted. So while I lose 85HP, and around 20-25lbs of Torque… I get better gas mileage and I sleep better at night.

Apparently though, with the update, you cannot use "valet" for actual valet parking. It will only cut the power for anti-theft, which means a valet could not use it to park the car. Too bad you don't have the option of which one to use....it is one or the other.

Dodge need to spend some money on the alarm systems. All they did was added another program. Valet parking mode is the same with the 4 digits pin. What they need to do for the Mopar family is get the OBD2 port lock that is available on Amazon and along with that OBD2 plug and play alarm which is available on Amazon and 2 RFID key fob bags and the lock & key for bypass Neutral lever. All these items are under 250.00 dollars. Also they should do this when you purchase you vehicle, enable the the key fob slots not used because the high tech thieves are making there own duplicate fob keys once plug to your car. I was wondering whether you can do me a favour. To cut a long story short I purchased a Hellcat Redeye from an importer here in Sydney Australia five months ago and the infotainment unit or headunit was not converted to Australian maps. So I have to connect either my iphone or Samsung phone to access maps. But they dont work all the time and neither does certain radio stations and even my ipod cuts off intermittently. A lot of dealers do not want to know me cause the car is a private import but there is one who wanted to help but cannot update the headunit anyway. So I have spent close to $180K AUD and I have a car virtually without the full use of its infotainment abilities. So can you contact Dodge on my behalf and get them to help me with this?

They tried to take my '01 Triumph *Daytona* 955i that way, but couldn't get it in fast enough and neighbors scared them off. They busted up the fairings, but I still had my bike.

Don't think I like the idea of having to type in a pin number every single time I want to start the car. Hard pass for me. That's what my insurance is for. For now, I put my fobs into an RFID shielded box inside the house. All my vehicle keys go in there now, cars, bike, whatever.
