Great podcast. I can relate to lots of that, Antony I will try and learn from some of the things you said. Dodge there is a common theme, so many peoples problems are triggered by some trauma, alot of the time people do not even realise what affected them until later life

very interesting interview. thought it would be the usual hoolie stuff, revelling in the notoriety but he was very humble and honest. good look to him. i learnt a lot from that about recovery and the 12 steps. i wish him all the best from a red.

Fair play to him. Can relate to a lot of what he says. I was very close to my grandparents as well. Was never involved in football violence but not through lack of trying lol. Had an older mate who was just starting to pull away from the Tottenham youth firm and I used beg him to link me up. Worked on the doors for a few years as well until I lost my license. When my grandad passed away ended up sleeping in his house for a few months too. Did coke everyday for six months but was able to give that up without too much trouble. Drink is the big one for me. Always been a heavy drinker. It got to the point where I couldn’t get out my flat or even get out my bed without having a skin full. Lost my job, got into debt and can no longer see my daughter as much as she lives 90 miles away. Even after I ran out of money still all I could think about is the next drink. Went to my first AA meeting last week and have been to two more since. Honestly AA is amazing. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly from the second you walk through the door. No judgement and very supportive, people of all ages from every type of background. When you hear people talk, when you’re an addict what they say is so relatable. You start to feel like you’re no longer the only person in the world with these thoughts and feelings. You feel less alone. I know this only the very start of a long journey for me but so far I’m 6 days sober. However being thousands in debt, jobless, not able to see my 4 year old daughter who I’ve always been close to, feeling depressed and feeling extremely anxious all the time is a really hard hill for me to climb atm. Just feel overwhelmed with anxiety and depression all the time. I really look forward to the meetings though, living on my own it’s probably the only time I don’t feel lonely. Always walk out a meeting feeling overwhelmed with positivity, it’s the only time I do and so far I’ve not picked up a drink since my first meeting 6 days ago, although I’ve come really close. Looking to start doing my 12 steps soon. To anyone with this addiction I STRONGLY recommend going to a meeting. They’re all over the country all the time just go on the AA website. You don’t even have to turn up sober the only requirement is you want to give up. And if you’re not religious don’t get put off by the God stuff. I’m not religious, half the people who go to them aren’t Christian, it’s more about finding your “higher power” which can be anything really

I've been there with addiction. I'm going through a dark time at the moment. My Grandad passed away in May, my brother passed away in 2021 and my Aunt is sick with breast cancer. I know that the substances feel like they're working but they aren't. They really aren't. They're just making things worse because it's just more crap you have to deal with. You can do it. You've done the hardest part, by realising that you need to change, now you just need to stay off the substances. Every minute that you don't do anything is a victory. I hope that you manage to sort it out for good. You're better than the substances. You're stronger as well. Best regards.

There's a few documentaries about Moss Side and the gang troubles in Manchester in the late 1980's on KZbin. Very interesting. I remember spending the school holidays at my Grandparents house in Littleborough in the late 1980's and very early 1990's and I would see the news on Granada Reports and it seemed like there was a different story about trouble there virtually every day.

I was at that match with Gazza and Lineker played. We had, via contacts with my Dad, tickets in the Kippax. When unfurled our Spurs shirts and a big ruck kicked off 🤣🤣. We got frog marched around the pitch and chucked in the Spurs end. My parents were less than impressed when they saw that, on Match of the Day, during the warm up! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 We then had a ruck in the streets outside as the Citeh boys did their thing 🙃🙃🙃

VIOLENCE ONLY BREEDS VIOLENCE *** First of all and very importantly, I strongly condone and deplore all acts of football violence or any violence as ‘violence only breeds violence’. I have seen far too much of it, and I am ashamed and regret many things I committed during my violent days as an ex-football hooligan. Having trained for many years at Martial Arts (Karate, Judo, Kick Boxing) I abused them all, because they are only meant to be applied in Self-Defence, and not for provoking someone to have a fight just to see how good you really are. I have been involved in some of the nastiest violent fights in and outside football grounds and nightclubs for over 25 years with most notorious football hooligan firms around the United Kingdom. I’ve had sharp coins, knives, darts, bricks, bottles, plastic seats, hot cups of tea, fireworks, flares, beer, full cans of fizzy drink; Molotov petrol cocktails, dog faeces, urine, all been thrown at me. I’ve had pepper spray in my face; loaded shotguns in my face on several occasions, and many irate and drunken night-club revellers makings death threats to me for many years. I’ve also, had a loaded magnum 45 revolver pointed at my head; stabbed and threatened with axes, hammers, baseball bats and machetes too many times. They say the older you get the more mature and wiser you become. I thank GOD and give HIM all the GLORY for HIS great grace and power to save me, because I would have died many times over. I thank GOD that I am so blessed to be alive for I would be dead, and long time buried if it wasn’t for HIS unconditional love, grace, and mercy. I can boldly say, “I am a miracle of HIS tender mercies.” They say the older you get the wiser and mature you become! I am so glad I wised up by GOD’S grace, and repented and returned back to GOD to serve HIM as my LORD and personal SAVIOUR. If you reading this message and are still hooked on violence, and still involved in being part of a football firm - let me please give you some good advice, get out while you can! For no one ever really wins in the end because the real true mark of any man is being able to swallow his pride and ego, to walk away from any fight to live another day as the brevity of life is far too short my friend! If you really want to fight someone - then pick a fight with the devil - for he’s the one behind all acts of violence because his business is to kill, cheat, destroy and steal our soul from eternity. But GOD is a GOD of love and peace, and wills you to come to Him through HIS SON JESUS CHRIST and receive a brand new life! Choose you therefore this day whom you will serve GOD or Satan - for this is the day of your salvation - choose life, choose JESUS CHRIST!!! *** from 'BADGER' of the "BOLTS CREW" + "MIGs CREW".
