I feel so blessed as I sit inside of my warm home. It is cold outside and we still have quite a bit of snow from last week but I am warm with plenty of food, warm bed and clothes. The young brave soldier with that little kitten has literally brought me to tears, big tears. The soldier has such a kind face, what a gentle soul he has. He looks so tired. He smiles but yet there's so much uncertainty on his beautiful face. I say an extra special prayer for Vadim and his little buddy that they will both somewhere safe with his girlfriend and children soon. The innocent people, children, and creatures that are dying all because of a madman's ego... it just makes me sick and so freaking angry and heartbroken at the same time. My husband and I volunteer with animal rescue groups. God bless these people for going in to these shelled out buildings with collapsed roofs into the basements and rescuing the animals that have hidden there for weeks. It warms my heart to see that. I wish this would just stop like everyone else so that these beautiful people can start to rebuild their country and their lives and try to heal. I pray so hard constantly that these brave men and women will be able to get back home to their families and loved ones safely. I pray for all of the children and creatures, they are the truly innocent ones here. The people in Ukraine absolutely amaze me how resilient and brave they are while caring for God's creatures during this horror show. Putin has lost this war but he will drag it out until the bitter end. He lost his soul a long time ago.... he doesn't care about silly things like souls and lives. He has no reward waiting for him in heaven, he chose to pick his treasures here on earth. I will continue my prayers and donations for Ukraine and I pray I am able to visit this beautiful country one day and meet the people. Zelenskiy seems like such a fine man who loves and genuinely cares about his country and the people. Good ALWAYS prevails over evil in the end. Stay strong and know The Lord is with you, keep fighting the good fight. I pray that the people of Russia will fight on their own ground. Fight for their freedom that they've never known. There is nothing for them in Ukraine but certain death. Glory to Ukraine! Much love and respect from The United States Of America 🇺🇦🇺🇸💙💛💗✌

More than that, cats can be pretty important in a trench warzone like this. Not just for morale and companionship, but for pest control. Rats and mice can be a real problem when it comes to keeping food stores safe and limiting the spread of disease. Cats like that have played a role in war since the beginning of human history. Less so these days, but they still play a role. Animals in warfare is a fascinating if sad historical topic.

Страны НАТО привыкли жить за чужой счёт, за сет колонизации, работорговли, установления своих несправедливых правил. Россия указала им на дверь, это видит весь мир. This wave of migration has sparked concerns about the threat of a potential brain drain. Even before the war, Russia’s IT sector lacked 500,000 to 1 million specialists to fully meet its needs, according to data from the Ministry of Digital Development." 👉 Here's another article excerpt: "EA games Electronic Arts will finally leave Russia, close technical support and (probably) abandon the Russian language The company Electronic Arts, which on March 4, 2022 stopped selling games in Belarus and Russia, as well as suspended the in-game microtransactions, is preparing to leave the Russian market entirely." 👉 And yet another: "Yandex, Russia's biggest tech giant, wants to cut ties with the country, according to the NYT. Yandex's parent company has concerns about the impact of the Ukrainian war on its businesses. Russia stands to lose its biggest tech company, which would throw a wrench in President Putin's plans to foster Russian-grown alternatives for Western technology. Yandex, often referred to as Russia's Google, is the country's largest internet business best known for its search browser and ride-hailing apps. But its Dutch-based parent company, Yandex N.V., wants out of Russia because of the potential negative impact the Ukrainian invasion could have on its business, according to a report by The New York Times. The exit of Russia's biggest tech company would deliver a blow to Putin, who has made a concerted effort to produce Russian technology and goods as sanctions cut access to Western suppliers. Yandex N.V. said Friday that its board had "commenced a strategic process to review options to restructure the group's ownership and governance in light of the current geopolitical environment.""

So on top of the kitty, I noticed a couple of things. The commander had a purple crocheted rabbit on his pack. The other soldier Varim, had a silver trinket pinned on to his vest front, along with a crocheted stuffed heart dangling off the vest front too. They have a playful sense of humor. Somehow, I just can't picture the Russians personalizing their rig in a similar way. Maybe knowing they are on their homeland, fighting for their family's life, allows the Ukrainian soldiers to be free to connect to their humanity, as an easygoing rightness. Meanwhile, the Russians are grim as they are just trying to stay alive and positive about a depressing punishment they don't understand.Or maybe I'm rreading too much into it.

Usually those artifacts are made and given to them by their family members and give them motivation to hold on and fight.

russian are people too and most of them never asked to be in those trenches. Its the west fault to have made russia or china what they are today in wealth because of creed. The russians have been brained washed and condition to be brain dead by the Regime. Ofcourse they are all responsable but most think the same has all of us if they had the chance. A100.000 soldiers lost coming from families with minimum 4 direct members plus uncles and Aunties. Everyone is suffering. Over 1 million man fleed Russia most functioning working man in important positions. This war was a miss calculation and in my opinion a trap set for putin and his regime. Russia will never recover from this. Ukraine is Russians Afganistan.

During WWI they put down wooden planking (duck boards) at the bottom of the trenches so as to not be slogging through mud and water. As long as the water wasn't more than a few inches it worked well enough to keep the feet sort of dry.

Someone should invent wooden or metal structure or stilts to raise their feet perhaps 6" off the much without endangering ankles.

In WW1 there tended to be 3-4 lines of trenches of varying quality. The further back the better construction typically.

@@userequaltoNull add-ons to regular shoes. Strapped on. Raise the height of foot by 6" and increase contact area for muddy soil.
@Ukraineaissance20142 жыл бұрын
You can do quite effective drainage but it depends on the soil type. If its clay it causes nightmares, like in Flanders. The somme was actually better for a time because its chalk and drains well. In that you can dig drainage holes into the trench side and fill the bottom with gravel and duck boards. I think their might be a better modern solution to wooden duckboards, maybe some sort of tough plastic that wont shatter and splinter everywhere in artillery fire. Also modern electric pumps would be useful.
