Two weeks after I passed the PMP and updated my resume, I had a job offer! So I say yes it does! I have lots of experience as a PM, but that PMP added the credential I needed to get the job I really wanted!

Just going through your course, its absolutely correct, need to actually understand content and then apply for jobs with skills you learned through the exam.

I got my PMP a year ago, thanks to Andrew. I did get a job after 8 months of doing it. It adds value to your resume, but having skills to crack interview is important
@mailtoaravindan9 ай бұрын
Fully agreed. ARs timely content make everyone to stay aligned in our path without any distractions. Both skill and certification is related. They go hand in hand. While the certificate is the entry ticket, it is the skill that is going to come a long way 👍

Hey Andrew. You're absolutely right. There's no point in having a certificate without knowing its real worth at work.

Hi Andrew I passed my PMP exam few days back.Your Udemy course and TIA exam simulator was really helpful.Thanks a lot❤️

Agreed! Having the PMP certification is only part of the puzzle. Too many people are studying for the exam just to take it, pass it, and get the certification so they can add it to their resume, but won't use it to its full potential purpose. It takes the added skills and experience to actually get the job. Getting the certification just to get it, devalues it for those of us project management professionals who get the certification to continue our education and skill development as actual Project Managers. It's frustrating when I hear that people are obtaining the certification without the intention to actually use it.

I agree 💯 Andrew . The Certification is just a leverage . The skill is what delivers the result

I expect, only during the interview phase, the cert to put me ahead of others that don’t have it,. The rest is on me to get the position.

I recently applied for a job that requires a PMP or equivalent certification. I submitted certificates from five out of six courses I completed in the Google Project Management Specialization on Coursera. I believe that my experience, supplemented by these certificates, compensates for the absence of a PMP certification. However, to ensure this isn't a barrier to future opportunities, I've decided to pursue the PMP certification in April/May of 2024. Wish me luck, fingers crossed!
@angie71649 ай бұрын
How did you like the Google PM cert? After researching multiple job postings (Tesla, HBO, Warner Brothers) and saw they did not require a PMP, but a PM cert, I chose Google. I absolutely loved the Google interactive cert courses.
@teddytariku9 ай бұрын
@@angie7164 Yes, I like the course structure and its organization. It offers a valuable insight into project management and the role of a project manager in any company. However, in the end, practical experience, along with the industry standard for project management - PMP certification - will definitely go a long way in advancing your career in the domain of your choice.

@@teddytariku I loved learning how "Google" works their products. Sadly, I took the class and got my projects approves and let it expire before I took the exam. Still reconsidering it

I agree you need both certifications and skills. However, I have both and have applied to 100s of jobs with no success. Of note is that I'm trying to pivot into a different industry.

Thank you for your honesty. So many others would go with the hard sell - do my course, get the. Cert and you're guaranteed to get a raise/job etc. Btw there's a lot of talk about getting a PMP without experience.. But isn't experience a core requirement of the application?
