Does a simple fix mean a simple diagnoses? Mercedes A class push button start won’t work.

great video thats why I dislike manufactures you buy a merc and you get a french engine disgrace same as vauxhall and peugeot what chance as joe blogs got when the salesman is trying to sell a merc and he knows its french but does not say

As always, an excellent video highlighting issues associated with a. effective diagnosis & b. the fact that an apparent problem is linked with what might be considered a totally separate issue - in this case the glow plug circuit and the 'push to start' button. As I've said before I'm a Yorkie living in France now and wishing I had a Merc again so I could get it looked after on UK visits by your good selves. Best of luck to you , Dave

Good glow plug should have around 0.8 to 2 ohms resistance or less... yours was 16 which showed it was bad

Good tip that you can remove the start button to insert key, probably has this info in the car handbook but who reads the book these days!!!

I used to test glow plugs with two wire connected to the battery terminals and connect them to the glow plug, if it got hot the glow plug was serviceable 🤔

I,m from construction and its coming to us old school like to go a job and see a leak but modern engines require diganostic skills which is money to the customer

Good stuff… new to your channel but have enjoyed every bit of your uploads.. keep the good work rolling.. Someday I want to own a C Class when the time is right.. What would be your advise between a Petrol/Diesel.. I know each will have pros/cos and it comes down to maintenance et al as you always point and anything mechanical will fail at some point… nonetheless one is more resilient in many aspects.. probably you can do just a different video solely on such a subject and the same will be appreciated…

It depends what c class and what engine you’re looking at really. But it really will boil down to how many miles you do a year to justify petrol or diesel.
