Does Aliexpress sell Knock Offs (KO)?: Neca TMNT, Gi Joe Classfield, etc.

Let's compare my Ultimate Neca TMNT Foot Solider to my lose bubbled wrapped Neca TMNT Foot Solider from Aliexpress! Tell me what do you guys think below of this Foot Solider from Aliexpress?

I dont think all figures are KOs. Aliexpress sells figures that didnt pass quality control...damaged boxes...and as u said..have more than expected to keep supply/demand high.

It depends what you mean by KOs too. In my mind, super obvious, bad KO's are not even worth discussing, as they are so clearly not genuine product that it isn't worth talking about as those wouldn't fool anyone. For me it's the good KOs that you need to be wary of, as these will be close to the real thing but lacking in some crucial but hard to detect ways, and if you want a fully authentic and genuine collection, you need to avoid these hard to detect good KOs. Generally my own rule of thumb is that if you buy something off of Ali Express close to the real release date of the genuine product, then you will very likely be buying factory over-runs that are identical to the real thing, (with potentially a dented/crushed box to go with it). However if you are buying off Ali Express in 2024 for an item that was last released in 2020 say, then it is more likely to be a good KO than genuine product.

That's what I'm thinking as long as it's the same product, essentially, although the quality of this particular foot isn't the same as the retail one I have.

I seem to recall the foot soldier two pack being one of the products that has been confirmed as a knock off I believe, the same as Bebop and Rocksteady. They were both released around the same time in 2020.

The knock off are made from the same machine when it's after hours without the official neca stamp of approval

That's what I'm thinking, so I don't look at it as a knock-off in the sense that's another manufacturer is trying to duplicate a product. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Single movie packs are fake. Just go on the turtle pages i mentioned and pick up a two pack. People are selling them pretty often at msrp.

I know they sell KO turtles because a 4 pack is what you pay for a two pack. I contemplated buying them a few times. What I want is KO gargoyles. If its not official its a KO. The same with movies, handbags and toys.

The price doesn't mean they're KOs. Often times they're overrun product or didn't pass QC on paint or something. Or, they're made in the same factory unofficially. Basically, despite being real product, the method they're obtained or produced allows for them to be sold at a much lower price. That being said, there's also complete bootlegs out there, but they're usually pretty distinct.

That was my point. This has become a semantics argument. yes late night specials exist. If you are not the official companies product you are a knock off. Created in the same factory or not. Defects or not. Using the official mold illegally or making a mold from the official product to then reproduce it. This is not the official companies product release. Look at the fanstoys designers that took their designs and released them. Those are always listed as KO. In some cases I have seen KO fix design problems the original had. Use better plastic. Still KO. Bootleg and Knock off are interchangeable regardless of quality. Bags, Coats, hell movies. you get a 1080P copy of a movie in the theater and its a bootleg. QUALITY is not the deciding factor, theft is. Steal a printing plate set from the US mint and the money you print is counterfeit ( another term which is all the same) True you cant exclusivity go by price because on Taobao and Aliexpress people will sell you a KO of a figure for full price to trick you . The TMNT movie 4 pack I was referencing above, someone bough and compared it to the original, and the quality was much less if that helps to your point. From interviews I have heard licensing is one of the biggest deciding factors in price. If you dont have to pay Takara or Laird/Eastman or whomever that licensing fee, then youre just paying the production price. This is why so many people are annoyed at hasbro. They charge the same price whether they pay external licensing or a figure or not, then lie and say its because plastic prices have gone up, but thats just business. It seems in the Fanstoys instance the designers didnt feel they were paid a proper amount or had some other disagreement and "took their designs" but then they release the figure in a box that looks exactly like the Fanstoys box.@@SoftEndy

@@doro626 I'm not saying that the figures produced in the same factory with worse materials aren't bootlegs, they are. But those that are cast aside or overproduced are legitimate. And you're definitely right about bootlegs, especially transformers ones, sometimes surpassing the originals in quality.

Could you provide the facebook link please? I am just starting out collecting Neca toon turtles. I got the pizza club set from target along with the Bebop and Rocksteady set. Other then that I cant find anything else locally and had to go the aliexpress route as I refuse to pay scalper prices on ebay. I am looking for the lighter colored toon turtles two packs and Tokka and Rahzar toon two pack and the Slash and Leatherhead toon two pack. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Download the app, but join some different Facebook pages. Tmnt party page and n.e.c.a turtle lair, to name a few. There's a ton of great info on what's real or ko on aliexpress, and people are always selling stuff at pretty good prices on there, too.

You are comparing the wrong figures, 1 is original from the ultimate version, but the second one is from 2 packs of the animated series, which obviously will differ in painting. It has long been known that this 2 pack is a counterfeit.
