I'll have to give this a try on my '92 D250. She's a 5spd with a THD pin, HE351, 5x12 injectors and 4" diamond eye.

Ive had a fuel pin and spring sitting in my tool box for years, and have never got around to installing it. Im still living that stock 160 Armadillo life haha. Great Episode Tim!

Out it in and advance the pump and tune the pump and you will notice a diffence in perfomance and fuel MPG

I like how gentle u are on the truck. I died inside when u said that u shouldn't floor them at a dead stop 😂 I was like...I've done that not all the time though I try to baby mine especially majority of the time.

On the stock fuel pin, there’s only about a 5 hp difference in power, not much in torque increase. Even with an aftermarket pin, in city traffic needing to make a left turn, loading up the transmission with like a power brake, can be beneficial to get there. Then add the next turbo or injectors. Instead of putting in the injector pump rotation in, buy and install the MH timing spacer. It gets you the timing advance at RPM without losing the bottom end torque.

The timing spacer didn't work for my truck for some reason? It started surging at high RPM like turbo chuffing. DO I need to add more of the washers to keep the spring preloaded more? The Denny T Pin definitely helped though with a more aggressive fuel curve

It's the stock a518 which is a 3 speed with overdrive

Governor spring was the best thing I did to make mine drivable on the freeway. Also taking the slop out of the throttle cable like i did in the last video

What are the good things to do with the not just Chrysler torque flight or anything any of those transmissions is a good quality shift kit and for every day driving you don’t want that pressure turned up way way high like a sled puller just may be a little bit more than what I just shift kit requires too much line pressure is no good either this is six in a row jim have a nice day

Your backwards. Dont worry about 1st to 2nd shifts. Roll into it and Hammer on it. Needs torque converter rpms thats all. Thats the strongest 2 gears you have. "WHEN" it starts to go bad, youll loose reverse and everything else except 1st and 2nd. In the end, 1st is the last to go. Reving the motor in 1st.. It "may" limp around the property or to load on a trailer. Thats it.

Agree to disagree. I'm looking at it from a fluid coupling of the torque converter standpoint. You're looking at it from the transmission itself 👍

@@decentgarage whats the difference? If in the end the transmission goes out. Low line pressure from low torque converter rpms. Thats the Achilles heel of the stock converter. Its originally designed for a gasoline motor. With torque peak in the higher rpms. Its a big reason the cummins smokes the transmission. To much torque combined with low revs. The worst thing about when people rebuild a old 518/519, i cant remember the model. Is that they dont replace/upgrade the torque converter. To one specific to the low rpm high torque cummins. Also making it a lock up style. Witch is another inherent flaw with the oem design. Aka, gasoline motor style torque converter. Simply, In its stock form.. If you use it like a truck, not a grocery getter. Its not going to last as long as it should.

@@decentgarage Before I swapped mine, the auto in my truck was okay when it was warm, but cold that thing slipped quite a bit. Someone put a BD diesel torque converter on it that I'm sure helped a bit.

It's honestly not that simple at all. It's fairly easy to have a 450 horse Ve pump that can still get 18 mpg. The key is matching fuel and air and more specifically matching your fuel curve to your boost curve.
