As a former WW main from MoP BFA and SL the problems i ran into was always community perception and mostly being built for aoe/cleave dmg and utility that Brewmaster and MW can provide. SL was the onlytime for me i was able to raid as a WW. Other expacs i wouldnt get invs despite the dmg i was able to do.

I’ve recently swapped to ww for my raid team, and yeah you basically only want crit and vers stats, and any damage trinket and weapons, and also embellishments. Even shadow flame enchant. You basically just buff your on uses and flat damage with your crit and vers. Which is a weird play style because your so reliant on borrowed power

If you have best in slot gear and you know how to play them they are great, otherwise even with somewhat decent gear they will feel very random in dps. In other words, what you expect to happen will be very random and not produce the same results each time. Playing a monk is challenging, it takes a lot of work to make things work, unlike a Paladin which can produce good numbers with subpar gear and a very easy rotation. With that said, I prefer challenge, so I play a monk, I didn't take the easy route. If they can make them as good as they were in Shadowlands, I would be thrilled. I would be thrilled if they could let us play Monks without the long drawn out rotation, including the required on use trinkets and on use weapon just to get up to speed.

I like all 3 specs. I might not be awesome at any one of them, but I find them fun to play. BM is fun for world content.

All WW mains have rerolled because theyre sick of being ignored when their ST has been bottom tier for about 7 years now. Ontop of the fact that their AoE is in the bottom half as well, which wss always their niche and excuse for being bad at single target, there is no point in playing it until they make a genuine effort ti fix it.

you should aim for crit = vers > mastery > hast for some number it's like 40% crit and 30% vers 20% mastery or something like that . If I should say a probleme for WW , it's his high reliance on ToD to do dmg in M+, if you can't get your ToD 1 and 2 on CD then you are going to have shit overall dommage in the key and let's not talk about the high dependance for borrow power to have dommage ( eranog ring still BIS in ST for WW after 2 nerf btw )

I've mained Monk this whole expansion. It's a really enjoyable class but certainly has some flaws with respect to how it scales. WindWalker and Brewmaster both really require continuous aura buffs in order to stay competitive because of how we don't scale as well with ilvl as other tanks and dps.

well i play ww monk right now and i have been playing for a while now. It's sad to see how poorly it's placed too other specs and that is the main reasone i think there's no monks left and also as a monk i don't get invited to high even tho i have built up my score, monk is not priorotized when we have classes like mage, aug and sp thats so extremley op right now

I love my windwalker. I love the playstyle. It kinda ruined other specs for me. I recently picked up an alt balance druid and it pained me to hit the same spell repeatedly. Booooring. I even love mist and brew, at least enough to beat the mage tower back in legion for those weapon skins. Brew is a bit scary for me still. Mist I used to love, it was my tranquil spec to relax with in m+. Does fort brew still increase your touch of death because i usually fort then clip a fof first for the tier buff then go into a touch, sunkick, touch, try to reset sun with a blackout.

I actually just switched from fury to windwalker. Gearing him up right now currently but its a blast. I know numbers wise its not great but i like that its not super spammy.

The reasons i think WW ain't played much is: 1. The spec feels terrible in it's current iteration. 2. The way dungeons are designed does not favor WW playstyles. There are simply too many punishing mechanics and affixes that makes WW really suffer on downtime. 3. Why play WW when there are better options with less friction.

They aren't meh, lol... But yes, Brew is a solid tank right now. Deals the most damage of any of the tanks when played correctly. :)

What they really need to do? Juice up the animations. If all the moves they borrowed from street fighter actually faintly resembled how those moves feel in SF, the spec would explode in popularity. That’s the biggest issue.

I may just be in the minority, but I miss MOP/WOD WW playstyle with maintaining tigereye brew, rising sun kick and blackout kick buffs/debuffs. That's just me, WW now just feels clunky (probably because i'm level 16). I will see if my views change at 70.

A good tip for using Serenity is to get a cast of Fists of Fury off within the last second of Serenity so that you get it for free.

imo you're losing too much not taking fury of xuen, empowered tiger, transfer power, invoker's del, battlegear, and skyreach/touch. I've mained WW for a long time, currently 3k in M+, and this is a very fun season for us with access to so many old leggie effects even if not top dps, but the build you seem to have is very ST focused but for keys I think it loses a lot on AoE. On the same 6 pack displayed at the beginning of the gameplay section I hit about 600k

I think it's so sad how poorly placed the Monk with all its speccs is in the cUrReNt mETa, mw has the most satisfying animations and a great rotation, bm I find the most fun but its just a bit too squishy and it simply can't do what a guardian druid does brain afk during incarn, and the windwalker is one of the nicest designed speccs to me personally, also very pleasing in its aesthetic and cds but blizzard makes it look useless in a myth+ group compared to other classes.

Yeah. From my initial testing here, Windwalker definitely has some potential. The damage was quite strong even with my horrible weapons with no enchants lol... So we shall see.

Vers/crit/mastery. haste is not good for ww. And i play monk alot. My vers is 30 and crit 29 the more the better

Holy moly thats a lot of haste for a windwalker KEKW Im a WW main currently with 2.9k IO, haste is almost useless you can get rid of all of it, its basically vers = crit > mastery And yeah, that talent tree is REALLY scuffed for m+, usually you either get the touch of death cleave for AoE or faeline for ST. Always use the skyreach/skytouch talent its too much of a burst to pass Also you can use tiger's lust to remove entangle so you dont need to move out of the pack. With serenity build you only use spinnin crane kick when u get a proc, otherwise its better to rising sun kick and full channel fists of fury
