Welcome back Joshua! So happy you are doing videos again. I love listening to your talks while I work. :) I think you bring up a good point about intention and how a lot of us stress over it when really it should not be so stressful. I think it has become a habit to think we have "failed" if we did not meet the goals we set internally, when in fact, success comes because we did the thing in the first place. And it is even more exciting if it turns out differently... I guess we call those happy accidents. Haha. Good stuff. ~Joslyn

Joslyn Schmitt Hey Joslyn! Thanks for the kind words! I think my entire working process has become happy accidents, though maybe they’re more like productive wrong turns.

oh man Josua, can u make a vid about creating narrative, semantic in design ? storytelling and design is kind of frustrating to me...

Incognitus Yeah, I can definitely do that but can you get a bit more specific? “Storytelling” is one of the most abused words in design/branding so it would help to know what you mean by it or how you’re struggling with it.

Sure, I will try :-) I was watching this lecture about swiss/international design, while trying to desig a business card for a friend and I was wondering how they come up with those magnificent compositions emphasising the core of specific themes. It starts with generating the design elements, abstraction, composition, Typography and ends up with the ''aha effect''. For example Brockmanns artwork ''Schütz das Kind''. minimalistic but boom. I already feel lost creating a bc and a logo for some caretaker service...-_-
