My breaking point with my last job was that I had to work everyday, commute 30 minutes to and back, work outside in 100 degree weather, just to be flat broke and having to work extra hours in the day just to be able to eat and pay bills

Hey, I've been producing content for about 10 years straight. Do not be afraid to post as it is. even if its not finished. it is the fact that media and creators over-saturating the market and you feel like everything is shit and not valuable. F.e. anytime i got a feedback on my deliverables and it is not sincere. I am getting frustrated like who are you saying me that shit. shut up and be cool that i made it. Personal content is so much harder to decide whether its finished or whatever. I am imagining a big dump hole where all the content goes.

I am glad you are as obsessed w/ this movie and the thought/ work behind it as I am! I found Gerhard Richter's work after I started abstract acrylic paintings and am really drawn to the beauty in destruction while working!

I’m in a art program at my college and I’m starting to really hate it 😂. The first half of the video really described my first and second semester to a T. I hate what I’m producing and I always change it last minute because I just have a complete new idea that is better than the previous one and I end up wasting materials, time, energy AND money because I just can’t decide. The only reason why I’m hesitating because I’m scared what the future will hold, like what if this choice goes downhill? What would my family think?

This is typical HOW TO. But there are “craft” artists who do/did the same technique but they don’t get the same quality of recognition, of most who are women. Richter dove into the minutiae of a simple and singular technique.

NB comes from the Latin phrase "nota bene" and is used to indicate that special attention should be paid to something. I have a feeling that Theo Ballmer was probably referencing this meaning with his poster.

I thought it was pretty accurate. Otherwise you just need to go to a hardcore socialist realism art school in the USSR (maybe North Korea would work now) then take your crazy painting skills over to the West and follow every weird idea that you have- photorealism of photos; grey paintings, color swatch paintings, paintings over photos, photographing your paintings, inventing new painting tools - for the next 61 years.

interesting - but I don't think Richter is thinking about how much he is worth or how much the paintings sell for. Also he made a series of paintings called Cage - where he listened to John Cage while he made the paintings.

Hi, I love this video and I have some questions: - In graphic design, do European Avant Grade is Early modern movement? Because I saw some sources tell this with a different name or this European Avant Grade just includes Dada and Futurism. - Does European Avant Grade includes Plakatstil, Bauhaus, Surrealismor anything else? I want to quit uni so much. I worked so hard to get in but now I just feel depressed all the time, all the assignments and travelling, I just cant handle it. I spent a year there already and I hated every day of it. I wanted to change my major subject bcs I got accepted to traditional painter major instead of graphic design and well thats just going nowhere, I wont achieve anyting with that and its just not for me.. I wanted to switch to graphic design but it turned out there is no opportunity for that, the only way is to drop out and start it over. There's no way I start uni over again. Idk what to do...

i hate how often times, you're just speculating how the design came into being. if you're making a video on this, why don't you look this stuff up and spread profound information rather than just share your thoughts on the designs? anyone can make assumptions looking at a design. (same accounts for the numerous spelling and pronounciation mistakes.) unfortunately, i did not find this video informative at all, however, i like that you took the time to compile all these examples of modern design.

I get what you're saying but there's a couple problems with it. I CAN’T look this stuff up. It's just a bunch of posters. Barely anyone cared at the time and barely anyone cares now. I’ve read extensively what little there is that documents it and even that is mostly speculation on the nature of it. Ultimately what I can do is apply what I know about doing graphic design from my own career and look at the context the work was made in (which is no different from any other art history book for that matter). Aside from pronunciations - where do you think I'm wrong? I think it’s fairly obvious that most of what I'm stating is an opinion of what’s happening visually in the work but even with that said where do you think I'm making stuff up?

It is fascinating but! He is a billionaire so he can do it this way. But take a genius and compare it to me. Let's say chess. I do play but can I play five ppl simultaneosly while blindfolded? No. So I'll do it my way. If I win a billion dollars on the lottery someone else can do my laundry.
