“Perfect” seems like an ideal state: everything crafted to a point where no improvements can be made and the work is truly ready to be shared with the world. So how can “perfectionism” be a bad thing? The problem is that perfection is impossible so the perfectionist is chasing a moving target (so their work is never done). Moreover the desire for perfection is usually not driven by a personal drive for excellence so much as a fear of how others will judge us.
