I am doing an extensive study on this topic, I've searched Greek teachers on this, I am learning Greek myself, and unfortunately, no it does not. No top scholar agrees with that, no top bible translation translates it that way, there is no good evidence for a causal eis. If anything, I do not understand why it is not translated as Into since the eis is accusative. I do not want to accept baptismal regeneration, but I've seen very good evidence in Greek that acts 2:38 means exactly what it says in english. I'm torn now because God clearly seems to say we receive salvation by baptism, but my fear of he'll stops me from accepting God's word.

Galatians 1:8 "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." The Apostles preached about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Repentance, baptism in His Name, and the gift of the Holy Spirit are how we apply this to ourselves. Repentance = death to self. Immersion in water in His Name = burial with Christ. Gift of the Holy Spirit = new life. Read and obey Acts 2:38 if you want to be saved.

One of the water that must be done in Jesus Christ's name (sins washed away) and one of the spirit (the gift of the spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues). Both makes that one new birth. John 3:5 (KJV) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. @@danetogibbons it's because of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus that we are baptized in water. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Salvation is in the man Christ Jesus alone and his finished work on the cross. Repentance and faith gives us a clear conscience towards God and baptism is obedience to his word. There was no mention of baptism in the verse I previously sent. Why? Paul said I came not to baptized. If baptism is essential for salvation then surely Paul would have stressed it.

@@randallrader680 If you read the entire chapter you can understand what Paul meant. When he says he does not baptize he means he does not baptize in his own name. For Christ baptizes and not Paul. Do you understand?

The children of Israel had to go through the water to be saved. Even God himself hovered over the water at one point. Jesus even Baptized his disciples in John 4:1. And except a man is born again by the water and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Acts 2:38 we need to repent be baptized and filled with the holyghost. There you have it it’s all in the book baptism does save you. That’s also in the book.

That's false there is no biblical example of anybody being baptized F,S, and HG. They was only baptized in Jesus name. Also, Paul re baptized Johns people in Acts 19:1-9 because the baptism of repentance was invalid. So if you are baptized in Triune name it is false and you need to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Why? Your answer is in Acts 4:12.

Yes - Baptism saves us - according to the word of God. - Like 1 Pet.3:21 says - just as water made separation between the ark and the sinful race of people - so baptism water saves - and then also to note - it is not just a ordinary bath removing the filth of the flesh - but in baptism the spiritual implications take place - by the blood of Jesus Christ being applied and washes our sins away (Rom.6, Act.22:16, Act.2:38, Mark.16:16, Gal.3:27, Col.2:12-13, Act.8:26-40, Jn.3:5, etc) Baptism takes place in order to give us new birth (Jn.3:5, Titus 3:5, Col.2:12-13 - calling it circumcision not by our hands but God's working) we need to Believe and BE BAPTIZED for salvation (Mrk.16:16) and thus - the forgiveness of sins (aphesis - cutting away of sins - freedom from the state of sinfulness (slavery of sin/ redemption from the old sinful man) - thus becoming clean and changed - also then receiving the answer of a good conscience - and so through the work of God in baptism we can declare that we have been given a good conscience - good joint knowledge of how God made us new. 1Pet.3:21 - There is also an antitype which now saves us-baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ - thus It is the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord that makes this joint knowledge (conscience) possible - because through baptism we unite with the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord - and so the old sinful man is buried , by our sins being washed off and so then raised into newness of life (Rom.6) - and that is why in Act.2:38-42 - 3000 souls were adequately qualified and cleansed and so saved and added to the church. Randall Rader they were not saved before water baptism. In Acts 11:13-14 Peter tells Cornelius,”Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter, who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved". Being baptized in the Spirit is different than being baptized in water. Being baptized in the Spirit usually was followed by signs like when the apostles started speaking in tongues. Water baptism doesn’t have anything to do with signs or gifts. Also, not all Christians were baptized in the Spirit and performed signs(1 Cor. 12:28-30), but all Christians were baptized in water.

Jesus said to the man on the cross next to him "today you will be with me in paradise". (Luke Chapter 23 Verse 43). Had this man been water baptized??? Water baptism happens because someone has been saved. Water baptism doesn't save. The recent coronation happened because Charles is now the King. The coronation didn't make Charles the King. Charles became the King when his mother - Queen Elizabeth the Second - died. A coronation for William or George would be nonsense as neither of them are King.

You cannot take verses out of context - we are cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb = Jesus Christ - and this initially happens in Baptism - Matt.28:19, Rom.6, Col.2:12-13, Gal.3:27, John 3:3-5, Mrk.16:16, Act.2:38, Act.22:16, Eph.4:5, 1 Pet.3:19 - a baptism which now saves us Take note these verses and much more cannot be trumped with others as if they now are irrelevant - for in reasoning this way you are not rightfully dividing the word of truth

I think it really depends on which church you go to. Not all denominations named the Church of Christ are cultish, it's just some. I do find it strange that some don't allow instruments though? I mean.. I don't think there should be extremely loud guitar music or anything, but a piano won't send us to Hell lol.
