Her lack of knowledge makes it absolutely impossible for her to keep up with Russell or any other kind of more intellectual discussion. And that's exactly the problem with most of the activist we have today. They do it for the aesthetic of activism, because it sounds good and looks a certain, alternative way but as soon as it becomes more intellectual and challenging they hit a wall and either just agree with everything said or contradict themselves. We need people with the power, mental strength and knowledge to actually change something.

The reality is evolution is a lie, because the very foundation of evolution is you guessed it...communism. Which explains why everyone is all gaga over socialism. The reality is parts of society are already socialist, and most of America is like a soft Communism. All anyone has to do is google the communist manifesto, and America point for point follows that exactly. All that is missing is some dictator who forces his or her will on the people, but give it time, the world order has been slowly moving in that direction as to not spook the sheep. I am for intelligent design, you seem intelligent, I feel like I was intelligently designed, it is almost like the new agers want us to go backwards. Guess that is why we were told that to knowledge there was no end, and to pray for wisdom. The term woke was originally apart of the Black lexicon in the Black/Brown community. It sometimes had general spiritual connectation but more so connected to the roots of ancestry in Africa. Reconnecting to a lost culture. It was about the black struggle and being aware of the systemic racism now and historically as well as with other issues of marginalised people (usually brown) - but in all honesty exclusionary of the white perspective or "white" issues of inequality or struggle (basically feminism). I guess this was because the black struggle felt as if it had been confined to zipped lips, that it was not spoken about socially with great zeal as it was not a problem white folk could truly understand. Mainly though i think because it would probably be uncomfortable for white folk to here about. Being woke really was used in the distinction between whether a black person was conscious and educated in an above average way re black struggle or not. Specifically to black folk who were aware of the historical fuqries, the consequences of those historical events, and fighting back against the deep rooted chains attached to our psyche. And progress with black people generally. Based on the shared experience of black folk collectively - the term woke was kind of exclusive to the perspective of marginalised black and brown folk. A little bit like the black enlightenment. Or black power. But nothing parallel to white power which is fuelled with hatred towards non white people. Black power is about learning to undo all the mental conditioning of self hate in the black community and learning to value other black people. Self love in the context of taught self hate over the passed 400 years. So being woke was synonymous with the term black power in a kind of way.

No one is saying, ‘Just believe in yourself’... It’s not ‘just’ - it’s a deep recognition of oneness and more. I would like to have heard examples of how the institutions she refers to have held her back exactly - because it sounded like rhetoric. I hope that being with Russell may have given her a bit of a swerve in her thinking, enough to save her from becoming another person with a loud voice , a small and skewed view of the world and with only ideology to offer . If she had in fact known herself a little better, perhaps she wouldn’t have adopted a patronising tone with Russell and suggested to him that he should consider being more practical. However I do appreciate her sweetness at the end, agreeing with Russell, and his magnanimity in ending on that note.

Utter gibberish. Can you have another person's feelings? Or, are you saying that your unique internal states don't exist. Describe the happiest day of your life from the perspective that you don't exist. A deeper question: Does your existence matter to you and in what ways does it matter.
@Daniel-Strain5 жыл бұрын
@@aion5837 Think of it like this: what people generally picture in their heads could be illustrated with a chart. There is a large circle in the middle labeled "me". Radial lines outward connect to things like emotions, memories, sensations, instincts, body, thoughts, etc. People think, "I have memories", "I have sensations" etc. This is the illusion. The reality is a chart that has no center and no "me" circle. Instead it has all the others, but instead of radial lines connected to a center, they are all connected to one another: a distributed network. There is no one place you can look and see a core 'self'. This is what Buddhists mean when they say the nature of self is aggregates. Conventionally we still say "I will meditate", "I will wear a blue shirt". But ultimately, what people tend to think (that I have some kind of distinct core that is eternal and unchanging) is untrue. It is literally an illusion, and modern cognitive science also finds this. The importance of this lesson is that it highlights the ever-changing and impermanent nature of the self. This teaching (anatta) is a subset of the larger teaching on emptiness. As we learn and deeply integrate it, it has profound impacts on the way we look at the world, the investments in our ego as the measure of all things, and on our attachments and drives.

I think, that people are constantly going through phases of understanding, which when compared to a previous state can be considered an awakening. Having said that, one must also consider what it is one does with this new understanding. I think it's possible that often times positive action based on each new understanding can be considered Spiritual. Of course one must use discernment in this potential process. Oddly enough though going from the brain(understanding), through the body(action) and then to the spirit may seem counter intuitive, however I would maintain, that once one has experienced the first two parts (understanding and action) one of two things will happen. Failure, thus yielding experience to possibly build upon some other time, or Achievement, which also yields experience in the form of confidence which is in itself the seed of faith. Faith being the revelation of a Spirit, we have had a Spiritual Awakening. As these accumulate we become less resistant to more of the same through out our life, thus growing.

I don't want to exist in this system as it is-what-so-ever. I never have. I crave to find a small group of like minded individuals and create/ facilitate an entirely new system of living, off grid. Some sort of artist's retreat/commune/farm. I've wanted this so much and so passionately all my life. I chose to drop out of high school. I did choose to become homeless and long term camp at 18. I went ahead and got my g.e.d. just because I knew I was smart enough despite what the teachers said. I wasn't willing to repeat my senior year for the 3 credits I was shy. Main stream school felt like prison to me. I chose to not own my own car. I instead share a vehicle with my partner of 10 years. I don't plan on owning a home because the American Dream was never mine. It was more like my nightmare, actually. To me it's comparable to being sufficated with things and stuff that I never really wanted or cared about and then never being able to claw myself out from under the debt that would come attachted, keeping me trapped. I don't want to just exist. I don't want to be a mindless, depressed zombie simply copying others so I can feel respected or just because it is what we are all told it's what it means to be "normal". I will not choose to have children. I won't get married. I've looked into things like Slab City, Van life, minimalism and off grid living because these are all things which actually resonate with who I am. These are things that make me actually want to be here, be alive and make me really excited. I know my thinking is very fringe but...I can't wait to meet still more who want out of the box. I must stay open. I must stay curious. I must continue creating. I don't feel like there is ever an end to any of that. What is "wokeness" anyway? Waking up is not easy, and it's a continual daily process. Part of waking up is to be in this world and not of it, to get by with only what one needs, and to basically die to oneself every day, only to awake anew and start all over again. I've been living this way for almost 2 years now, and for as difficult it can be, it's also the most freeing place I've ever been living within this construct. Being grateful for everything, even if those things look negative in other peoples eyes, and STILL being able to get out of bed every morning and say Thank You, is a huge blessing, and for me personally, this has been the most important blessing: I had everything that I thought was important to me taken away, my job, friends that I had for 3 decades, the ability to make constant cash... I turned inward, became more spiritual than I ever was, and realized that all those 'bad' things were in fact blessings, so I forgave everyone, including myself and even though I have no monetary wealth and I panhandle for cash, I am spiritually abundant and to me, THAT'S PRICELESS! "Woke" is a bogus bit of self-aggrandisement; crude virtue signalling (fog-horning). It's a good indicator that the user is blind to their own shortcomings. Eventually their children will view them with same contempt and moral disdain they see everyone else.

@leahannwhite11115 жыл бұрын
Heaven... You start realizing theres actually no body.. there isn't anyone or anything.. just the thoughts you are thinking. And then you begin to question even that.. and come to see that you aren't even the thinker of those thoughts. They just come in.. like a wave.. just one after another.. totally harmless. Like, totally not personal, they have no meaning. They are just thoughts. And then you get a hold of just one of them.. just one of them gets your attention and you are suddenly attached. Like, you believe you are the thought. You actually believe its real.. that it's true. But it's just a thought. Thoughts come and go. Like air. That does not make them real. They only seem real.. feel real .. when you are believing them. Do you see? They are not personal. There is no thought that is ever personal. But we attach to them as if they are real. And then they continue to build one on to another. And start to feel more and more true. With all this evidence to back it up. Just more and more thoughts. To solidify the original belief. Next thing you know.. you've got your Whole reality.. that you 'think' is real. But thinking it does not make it true. When you question it.. when you question the thought, it loses its power. It loses its hold on you. It's like a child. Thoughts are like children. They come in... wanting to be heard. Wanting to be validated. Wanting to be understood. The thought comes in that sounds like 'I hate myself.. i am not good enough..' and if we just hear it.. we want to throw it away. We want to get rid of it. .. As FAST as we can. Because we think it says something about 'us'. We are believing the thought in that moment as if it's real .. and it terrifies us. We dont want to look at it. Get it AWAY from me. We don't want to hear it bc we think its Ours. We think it belongs to us. .. But it's just a thought. It's like consciousness. Like a bird singing.. like the ocean wave hitting the shore, like a tree standing there with all its leaves. Just being a tree. It just IS what it IS. Its an image. A harmless projection. When we realize it's not us, it's not who we Are.. Its only what we are Believing ourselves to be, in the moment we think it... then we are free. Then we don't have to suffer over it. Bc we know it's an illusion. When we know this.. when we become really clear.. because we've done the Work.. the Real work of going within to ask ourselves if its true.. then when it comes.. when the thought comes... we can be with it. We can let it in.. with Open arms.. because we know what to do with it. It's like watching our child tell us a scary nightmare and they are so afraid bc they are believing their thoughts as if it were true. And in this awareness.. we can Love them, be there for them... listen to them, and Be with them... without trying to fight the nightmare or make it go away.. or wrestle it to the ground and kill it... we can just be present with it,... because we understand it. We understand what it feels like when we were believing our own nightmares, as children. Its clarity,.. its truth.. its Love.. to question our thoughts and what we are believing that's hurting. And be willing to lose our WHOLE world. Our Whole imagined identity. That's where we find truth. That's where we find Love. That's where we find each other. And the dream becomes Laughter. And know we've never left. . in the first place. ❤🕊

The problem with being your self or telling others to be, is that most of us do not have a deeper awakened awareness of who we are, which can be discovered once inquired. If one knows how to meditate, and can experience that access to a deeper level of their core, the radiant energetic essence that is always there present, perhaps dimmed to most, hidden just below their noses. Eye do feel we're all spiritual, as we are all spirit and that's what the mission is. Awaken to the spirit through alignment of body and mind. I have been on the journey and I have found that no circumstance, no external change ever really helps, with the inner tention. The work of surrender to the being vibration, allowing for the non doing, to rest the mind and do the opposite, relax creating, and simply be with your own presence. Consciousness Conscious of itself. I have started when I was 17 and it's been a journey, and still is obviously, but truly recommend practice and search of meditation, for it will provide you with a tool to use to keep yourself elevated, connected, healed, peaceful, happy, and intune with our purpose. God Bless All.. the main thing is shutting off that noise, constant conclusions, more and more problems, the words are like fingers pointing at the moon, remember that. No matter how fancy your finger movements, they will never touch the moon for your focused awareness will. Ay ^

It's all about individuals. As we become more politically conscious, we become more individual, and the more individual we are, the better we are able to connect with other individuals. Society and its institutions are monolithic, and would like us to discount our individuality, at our own peril.

To wake up is like getting the red pill. It can be a brutal experience. You just see the world different. No more dog eat dog. You realize you have all you need already. We need to be "awake" in the sense that we should be aware of how the world works. There is government, religious, and commercial systems at work that have agendas that corrupt and greedy... and ultimately the powers that be don't care about the well-being of the individual. We have to understand that contentment does not depend on external things. We can not change things outside of ourselves, but only have control over ourselves. We control how we feel and how we react. "Believe in yourself and you'll get everything you want." is a bullcrap thing told to mostly young people so they don't give up too soon. Belief is not enough, you have to take action. You can believe you'll win the lottery, but you'll never get the chance if you never buy a ticket.

Christian and other believer have claimed to be awakened for thousands of years . Sadly what they "define" as being awakened, is meditation what will help allow them to overlook problems. It works,awhile, until problems boom so bad ,that even the so called awake people, will then have more trouble to even use meditation in this misused way, so as to forget problematic issues and soothe the stress load.People are worried and stressed to max, now, for these very "valid" reason. There are reason why, the power that be, like meditation, to extent of misuse . As it help to secure team of unaware work horses, so as to keep the cogs of capitalist system afloat. Powers that be, really don't want to many people who'll be "awake" and therefore far to environmentally conscious. I'm all for spirituality. I am . So long as its not misused form. Many times I have woken up, only to find I was still sleep, dreaming that I had awakened. It's a strange feeling to not be sure which state is awake and which is sleeping. I had to change the way I percieved everything. It's difficult to know the truth about even who or what I am, when all that I was ever taught was lies and bits of truth wrapped in lies. Why don’t a lot of people understand this conversation. I take from it , It’s about the struggle between a personal awakening and the hardships of living in this world and being a human with concrete struggles and how those struggles can sometimes drag us back into the dark. it’s not like you wake up one day and then every real struggle becomes fairy dust. it’s a constant process and the more people who are willing to go through the process the less the darkness can take over .

I really liked this video and I rarely comment but I feel I’d like to share my opinions on this subject. When we tell ourselves to become “more spiritual” what exactly are we saying? What does it mean to be spiritual in the first place let alone to enhance it. Is spirituality just a mindset of love, peace, and compassion? Or is what we call “spirit” just pure awareness unbound by the limitations of the 3rd dimensional filtration system we call our brain? Is the spirit our awareness of “self” beyond the material ego self created by natural and unnatural conditioning? If this opinion of spirit is valid then isn’t it impossible to “become” something you already are beyond the material conditioning? Can we call ourselves awakened if the sleep is only an illusion? Can we call ourselves a self when are infinite? Wouldn’t a self by definition make us limited? Or is the Bhagavad Gita accurate when Krishna tells Arjuna “The spirit cannot kill nor be killed”. Does that mean this entire 3rd dimensional reality is only the limitation of our true nature and not the true existence that is untouched by any of the “evils” being done to its lesser dimensional energies? I guess if that’s the case the only way to “be spiritual” is to stop playing the role of the actor or director and enjoy our natural place as the watcher of the cosmic play

I think it is a word that tries to hide the fact that there are multiple issues and points of view towards any given idea, it implies "you've just not woken up to the truth yet and there is only one truth, if you argue your own point you're just not enlightened enough like I am". It feels like a term to shut down debate and discussion of a varied set of issues. It's a term for the self righteous and those insecure about their beliefs.

Being "woke" ostracizes others, which can lead to more problems... For example, the attack on masculinity is making young men feel like they are alone. This can cause more issues such as a rise in violence, mass shootings, etc. We can only guide others and hope that they start awakening by themselves. Forcing them to do so would be disastrous.

Macro solutions for micro problems, no law condones any sexist operations, there are unfortunate micro pockets where constructs do not obey the laws, I a man have been discriminated by women centric jobs, I do not seek to change the law to give privilege to men and obstacles to women, because I am an adult, I hold those that ignore the laws accountable to them, i don't inflate a circumstance to gain from it, that only hurts society
I’ve been awake for quite some time. Most times I have to play the part of my ego to relate to others without sustemming to complaining; or any other negative feedbacks loops that enable peoples unconscious reactions and inner judgements. I feel that my ability to see passed one’s ego; although beneficial for the moment as it allows me to play with them as a player and like improv: find the playfulness or the game as it were in the conversation at hand, albeit has made me hilarious and fun to be around person, has only separated me from ever really connecting more deeply to them as their persona although friendly and joyful and full of life is masked by their inner conflict and past and future. Even the happiest people I’ve met I later find are compensating for something or still have connections to their phones and videos during times where you could simply connect to a real life person and be in the moment. I mean here’s all these videos so where y’all at??? Lol. Kudos to everyone on their journey but if anyone can relate to this own life situation I find myself in (which is not really a situation but something I’ve noticed) then I hope this message brings you some comfort. If only for your ego to feel comforted since the part must be played. :)
