Thing is, Stella i can understand coming back, after all the man is a genius, his brain is pretty much still alive together with all of the other vegapunks, what bugs me is Kuma tho, because his backstory was so tragic and so impactful, to have him come back in any way would throw that masterful writting straight into the trash, and that's unaxeptable, Kuma is more than dead, he's erased, his body is still kind of alive but his mind is gone, now if Oda wants to go the route of "We healed his body but the damage to his mind is too great" and then have Bonney take care of him, that would be acceptable for me, but bringing him back is... It's the last straw.

I honestly feel the inverse. These emotional scenes feel like just a waste of time. I think anyone who read this reasonably thought Stella would be back. It's moreso Kuma that's the issue. His will could've lived on, even with him never being the same ever again. I get characters like Kizaru don't have our perspective, but why should I feel bad when we know Stella is coming back? Didn't Sentomaru act to save Vegapunk? Sentomaru betrayed the government, fought against his teacher Kizaru, and now we don't know where he's at. How much does that really matters now? In Wano, Kinemon and Kiku were more prominent characters and were in dire situations. Somehow though, they lived and we let characters who were close to them instead die for them (Izo died for Kiku and Ashura Doji saved Kinemon). Oda loves to play with the reader's emotions, but when it's too much he's sure to backtrack it. This whole Kuma thing is right after Saul reunites with Robin too. Oda just can't let characters go. Vegapunk could've played the role of Saul in terms of preserving the history of Ohara imo. Lilith said Vegapunk had a clone and he didn't use that to go back to Ohara and preserve history then? Just more excuses imo. I can't keep feeling bad about these scenarios if almost all of the crucial and dire situations have no consequences for important characters. For all this "will living on through others" thing, Oda struggles to really let it happen.

I'm perfectly fine with Jay and anyone else not liking the developments regarding Kuma and Stella; however, I do not have to agree to the conditions he laid out. That is silliness. The problem isn't the visceral reaction Jay has to the realization that Kuma and Stella are going to (potentially/likely) be restored but his need to lay down terms and conditions about how to feel about it moving forward. It comes off as an ultimatum and kills any empathy I would have towards how he's feeling. I've been following One Piece since 2003. Oda conditioned me long ago to take a "wait and see" approach to death, flashback or not. Over that time, I can count on my hand the death swerves that weren't paid off and/or were to the detriment of the narrative. You all may feel differently and that's fine but you all also don't get to dictate the terms in how I enjoy the story. Given the existence of clones and Punk Records, what happens with Stella doesn't bother me nor does it detract from the moment with Kizaru. Regarding Kuma, I'm a little more leery about but I'm reserving judgment until I see how things play out.

How can you be this deep into one piece and still not get it??? How can you have read the 1100 chapters up to this point and then be surprised or disappointed at oda giving characters good endings sometimes. Just seems like such a nitpicky thing to be critical about. I mean the recent chapter that was all about saul and Robin reunion made me literally cry because of how beautiful it was and all these "fans" read that chapter and instead of enjoying it they only think about "WeLL GeE ODa wHy iS SaUL NoT DeAD?" How can you read all of egghead arc and reduce the greatness of egghead down to just vegapunks death. Saying that vegapunk not dying ruins the egghead arc just tells me you aren't getting out of one piece what oda intended and instead are just focused or distracted by all the wrong details. How does keeping kuma suffering make the story good? If yall want people just getting raped and killed then go watch game of thrones or some shit. This is fucking one piece. Jesus. @aron8930 understandable but as far as I know kuma never "died". His backstory was all about him taking others pain unto himself selflessly. He did everything for bonney. For the free folk. Solo revolution and even had his humanity erased for the sake of the good of the world. It's tragic af but he never died. He came back to save bonney and put Saturn in his place. And he did just that. He even used haki when punching Saturn which literally tells the audience that kuma still has some sliver of himself still left. He still has some personality and humanity left inside despite us being told he's just a soulless robot now. And then after egghead he escapes the island with bonney and vegapunk and the strawhats with dorry and broggy. SO why tf are people so surprised that these side characters are now on elbaf and trying to fix kuma???? Wouldn't that be the next logical thing to do now that kuma has been liberated??? He deserves to have his humanity restored. Bonney deserves it too and then they can join the revolutionary army together and fight the good fight. I just don't know why all this is so hard for people to grasp. Kuma never died. Sure the switch was flipped but again he clearly has some humanity left in him and is that NOT WORTH FIGHTING FOR? What else would you have these side characters do now that they are on elbaf???? Seriously people cmon.

Heck even at Marine Ford Luffy and Jinbe should’ve been toast with the damage they got at the end. But if Kuma comes back it might be the worst decision of ever for the story. Kuma remaining dead suits your narrative, and your preference and Oda bringing him back isn't a fairy tail work as Kuma never really died, Vegapunk erased his sense of self, his soul and body are intact, and it stands to reason that the person who did that to him would try to undo it, especially if said person is one of the smartest people alive and we both know erasing Kuma took a huge toll on him. It would be remiss as he was erasing kuma that he didn't think of a way to reverse it.... Haven't you ever had regrets or things you wish you could undo? and if you had the ability to do it, would you sit by? Vegapunk is one of the smartest characters in one piece, it would be out of character for him not to think of a way to undo what he done to Kuma..him not doing anything and just let things be is actually more of a plot hole than anything... for me I have more issue with Pound being alive because he was beheaded, or Kinemon surviving Kaidou's beating while Asura Douji died to a dynamite or Izo dying to a shigan.. they didn't make sense, but Kuma's situation being reversed, the writing has always been on the wall.. Vegapunk is the one who did that to him, it stands to reason he would try to undo it.

I have a problem with death in One Piece in general, but Vega Punk coming back is understandable, since he actually never died completely ie the vega punks that are still alive. Anyhow I don't understand people that love animes like Dragon Ball and Naruto having this kind of problem with Oda reviving caracters left and right.

Then why doesn’t the Dc, Marvel and Dragon Ball franchises get hate for making death not matter?
@lockinggone786222 сағат бұрын
Dragon ball absolutely does. Dc and Marvel get less just because of sheer amount of different storys.

Honestly I truly hope it isn't the case the Shanks twin will ruin lilith's plan. Everything is going to smothly and I hope Shanks 2.0 is actually here to finish the job that Saturn failed to accomplish. Really hope this is Oda's vision to give us hope but to crush it directly.

i just hope that this “Stella clone” is younger, just for the sole fact that even if it has Stella’s intellect/mannerisms etc it still wouldn’t be the same being, just like Stussy isn’t 100% Ms. Bakkin (idk spelling lol) and could develop its own personality…possibly Pride if Oda wants to screw over Kidd one last time

I dislike when ODA decides to make Peru alive. But for the Vegapunks death is so stupid.... how could Vegapunks being the smartest people in the world ....die like that? Yes, I agree with ODA for this decision but I disagree if he makes they death as stupid as that. And for Kuma, he don't have a real death scene yet. It is just his body of cyborg that death. And we have been told since the beginning of egghead that science cannot control living creature mind. You don't pay attention enough and thinking that some scene is kuma's death scene.

While I would definitely prefer permanent deaths in One piece, that's not the One piece we are getting, its Oda's. He's doing as he wants One piece to be. And that's fine i guess, atleast it makes me feel something about these characters about if they live or die. In many shows i watch, they do kill important characters, but only a couple, even if any, deaths affect me. It was just Naruto and one piece that made me feel shit. So i guess, yeah it's fine. It's okay Oda, i''ll let this slide cause the other stuff you do around it fills my heart.. So it's fine, im holding out hope that he is saving the deaths for the Final War arc and he wants there to be as many characters we love than even Marineford. This is definitely cope, but also a little of hope. Cause just thinking about that gives me chills, all these characters that dont die will be in that war. There will be no NPCs in that war. So, i guess ill just hope and carry on.

Firstly im not defening anything i just want to put my say out there, I feel like some people forget that this is oda he's a master of subverting expectations just take loki as an example everyone had expectations for him abd oda completely subverted those expectations and with the shanks clone guy thing oda is probably going to permanently kill off kuma and vegapunk in this arc let oda cook for fucks sake give him a chance

I think Kuma coming back makes narratively sense, because he didnt die during egghead. I would have preferred him to regain his self sense and die killing saturn or protecting bonney - "triggering" her developing her nika form. But i was fine with him returning, when he didnt die during egghead. It was clear oda wouldnt keep him as a vegetable forever. Bonney and him deserve a happy end tbf and i am fine because i love kuma as a person. Vegapunk is a miss imo. Sure it makes sense. But i often think less is more in terms of storytelling. We never needed 6 satellites. We dont need lillith, the clone stella and the patchwork vegapunk in his new home. His death was very interesting and unique and saving at least ONE vegapunk felt so essential in the story, as york turned into a villain. This will continue to be my number 1 complaint about one piece. I love the story, the romantic sense of adventure and the characters. But the lack of death and the fake out deaths are this stories biggest flaws.
@ryanhickson639917 сағат бұрын
Kuma deserves to come back for bonnies sake, stellar needs to stay dead, every other vegapunk can come back to life just fine bit no stellar

Pell should have died. Pound didn't have to die, but then why even tease his death the way he did when Oda wrote what happened. KINEMON should have DEFINITELY died, especially since his role as the leader of the Akazaya 9(it would have made Wano more impactful). Saul's death was ambiguous to begin with, so im not even mad, especially when they told us in early Egghead. Vegapunk's clone makes sense since he's already cloned himself MULTIPLE times. Stella is dead. All he did was make a clone. Kuma....well...idk how i feel about that either, so im with Jay. I'm gonna wait to see how "alive" Kuma is. Let's not forget: During the final phase of the Egghead arc; Vegapunk wanted to mention something about what makes Buccaneers special, but Oda decided to edge us so he could tell us later. I'm with Jay, but I'm not as mad because I am not surprised since Oda constantly does this sometimes for no reason, but let's wait and see how it plays out before WE crash out 😂
@Mario-ll7lf6 сағат бұрын
This is my problem. We can wait and see before crashing out over possibilities of something happening. Jay does realise if he is wrong people are going use this clip and discredit every single opinion he has in future because he was wrong one time 😂😂
@GothamThotSlayer15 минут бұрын
@Mario-ll7lf tbf, I've seen Jay crash out for less in one piece. But this happens all the time. Rogersbase was known for his crash out for Big Mom's amnesia plot point in Wano, and he crashed out hard lol. There's always gonna be something we don't like that will make us very reactionary which is understandable. We all don't have to like the same things. But Jay knows this, and I doubt this will change how he reacts to something he doesn't like in the future. At least he admitted to it, you know?
