Funny thing is, Ed could have gotten his allocation and bought at retail. Put as much miles on it as he wanted, and STILL would have made a hell of a profit today if he sold it. It will never lose retail value, so yeah I would regret it.

The reason for the eco boost V6 was because of Le Man rules. They wanted to race, but to race with forced induction (turbo, supercharger) you can only run a certain sized V6. Which there eco boost fit perfectly V8 and above are NA only.

Thats a great car...my good friend started his Dodge journey in the SRT10 pickup trucks...and for what they are...they are pretty awesome. They drive more like a car than truck...other than ride height. Anyway...he sold the truck and stepped into the iconic 1996 Viper GTS blue with white stripes. After having driven it several times...its an awesome car and very much respected on the streets. All the thumbs up you get is a cool thing. And it is fast...just make sure you have it pointed straight when you step on the loud pedal! It sounds so good wide open. I will not forget my experiences behind the wheel :)

To say though, compared to the experience of older more analog supercars, its auto, turbo, smooth power delivery and predictable nature would make it very tame compared to say a v12 murci or older ferraris. Its fast but besides looks what's the experience of it right? A lambo or a ferrari offer more raw feeling, sound, and excitement in especially older ones

GT is a great looking car and your someone unaware of anything else supercar it would certainly fill most of the desires of car enthusiasts and in particular Ford enthusiasts. Its a great internet car as it sure look like it worth a lot more than it is, and its rarity outside of the US make it not look out of place inside a Hypercar convoy. Shmee's videos have proven this many times. Enough that it basically eclipses The Senna and TSR-S as his flagship car even now. It will be one of the most timeless car design from 2010s.

I drove one and the DCT is not the best, or it's the software maybe, because it didn't shift as quickly as you'd expect for a car of this caliber. If you're going to take away the stick, you'd better replace it with something incredible, like the newer PDK.

the car has the same problem the 05 had against the original that Doug Demiro Drag Raced with his, you cant beat the sound of a 289, or a 427 on Full Tilt, and that's half of it, the rest is the chassis, like take the engine out of a wrecked one of these, and put in the shelby GT350 R motor, and it would have been a slice of heaven

There really doesn't seem to be anything exciting or inherently special about the Ford GT other than it's racing heritage, but even that's a bit of a stretch with the current model. I'm convinced the only reason these things are holding any value is due to boomers snagging up all the allocations and hiding them away. It's not even a terribly rare care relative to others in the price bracket.

I don't understand how people find the luggage thing difficult... Here's a tip. Whenever I'd go on big motorcycle tours with my old man (and he didn't take his Goldwing) we would often have to take more luggage than we could carry. Especially if he had business planned along the way, we may need suits or what have you. So what we would always do, is use a reliable transport company (They exist. Toll Ipec was always great here in Australia, they never messed up) that does next day delivery. By the time you get to your next destination, because the trucks run all night, your luggage is waiting for you at the hotel. Use what you need, then organise a pick-up for that afternoon and "Bob's your Uncle" as we say down here, the luggage will be waiting for you at the next destination by lunch time the following day. All we needed to carry is a backpack worth of stuff on the bikes. We'd just have our wet gear, some vital things as a contingency (in case the truck breaks down etc) and let the couriers deliver our suitcases. It was an affordable and convenient solution to the luggage issues that never failed us. Even if we went to remote locations, you could always find a road train or someone going to do work out there who'd take a little cash to drop it off and we never got screwed doing that. More often than not, they'd have a gander at the bikes and offer to do it for free! But we'd always chuck them a $50 and insist. People were almost always cool, you'd just use your intuition or the "vibe check" as the kids say now. I'm planning to take my 16yo daughter around the country in my CAV GT40 next year (if the parts show up and the builder can get it done in time 😩) and that's the plan for that. Otherwise I'd need a support truck just for her things haha. No seriously, I would, the little aluminium boxes near the engine won't take her make-up let alone her clothes. I assume they'll get pretty damned hot too 🤔

Not only do you not fit in the car when you pass the lambo the gt just sounds rubbish. Yes you could have bought it messed around with it for a couple months and still come out ahead but it all worked out in the end you got your dream car sat in your garage. Like you im tall 6'5" but im also disabled so severely limits my car choice. I've had 2 covertable mercedes e class recently just because they have the longest doors and open to 90 degrees and have the headroom and space for my wheelchair or sticks in the back. Tho i was an s2000 so badly lol.
