Another thing Glitter Force was supposed to air on Nickelodeon, but never did. Its likely why each one is split into 2 seasons, and it connects to this 'Power Rider' trademark Saban filed(long story short, Saban was told he could get Shinkenger footage if he adapted another Toei series, he jumped the gun, filed the Power Rider trademark, expecting the show to be a Kamen Rider. When it turns out to be Smile PreCure)

they did ojamajo doremi season 1, you know the anime that run in the same time slot as precure for 4 years and most of production crew was transfered to make precure as a replacement show the thing is localization of ojamajo also cut any japanese explisit content, relocated the anime to the states and cut down any possible way of prolonging the show to 3 remaining seasons due to countles plotholes they dug in localization

So I just recently got recommended this video after probably watching so many Wonderful Precure videos and this was really interesting since at the time I never really bother with how bad Glitter Force was since I thought that was normal when it came onto Netflix until finding out about Precure. Wow I didn’t realize Clara was Alice for Precure version but I agree why change it- 😬 Now I really need to find the Precure Doki Doki version for this since this is first time I am hearing that some stuff was cut out!?! 😨

glitter force dub is only comparable to captain harlock dub from the 80's where localisers cut out vilan race entirely because they were all sexy evil women so entire alien invasion didn't happen, antyhero was branded a vilan and his adopted doughter died twice when in oryginal she didn't even once. and cut down episode count by comparable amount

The dub skipped more than just a few episodes; an entire arc was removed, the final attack was never introduced properly, and several episodes in the first half wee combined to make new ones.

Honestly, I think there's more to this hate-dom than just the poor dubbing making people averse to it (myself included). I think the writing also contributed to that. In all sorts of ways. Not in a bad way, mind you. I don't mean to say that the writing is bad. Just that- If it marketed itself as a PG-13 to PG-17 show, it probably would've done better. But they didn't do that. They kept the demographic geared towards young kids in the ads and promotional material. So, they just, Didn't. Know. How. To. Write. CHILDREN. And started bragging about their writing for children. And especially don't know how to write _for_ children. It's not a rule, by any means, but if you wanna write for children, the best way to do it is to make sure every scene has something interesting on screen. Like, the Incredibles for example. There's a scene where mirage isn't doing anything interesting. She's just info dumping plot to Mr. Incredible. And that's boring, so maybe his wife is threatening to come in to the room, maybe the message won't repeat, he can't find a pen. All that stuff is just so the scene is cool to look at. When Mr. Incredible is apologizing there's interesting in the background. There's something interesting somewhere. Foreground or background. Doki Doki doesn't really have that. The pacing is slower and calmer and the emotional bits don't have anything around to lighten the scene. So you get bored, confused, and annoyed if you're watching it at 8 years old. Which most people did. Most people got a crappy experience out of it because it was written in a way teens/adults would enjoy and don't wanna see it ever again. Tl;dr: it looked like a kids show but it wasn't one, lot of kids have bad memories with it, and refuse to watch it

It _is_ a kids show, but there are certain sweet spots that you have to nail in the writing in order to get it to click with children. Doki Doki didn't _quite_ hit those sweet spots, and while that doesn't really affect the product as a whole, it _does_ affect the way children respond to it. And considering it's a kids show, you'd hope it'd hit the sweet spots a kids show needs to do to make kids like it. Because it missed those, I feel like a lot of kids that liked glitter force went over to Doki Doki assuming it had the same characters or plot structure, only to be like "This one's more dramatic and think-y. I don't want to do _more_ homework!" Missing these sweet spots is a little like wiring a speaker backwards. Using the black wire like it's a white wire and vice versa. The sound doesn't _really_ change when you do that, to most ears at least, but there are a few people who can hear the difference. Or, a less nerdy comparison, it's like building a bookshelf wrong. It's still the same parts, it's still a bookshelf, it's not gonna become a refrigerator anytime soon, but after building it wrong it probably won't have the weight capacity that was promised on the box. And if you bought it _because_ you wanted a strong bookshelf, then you're not going to like the cursed one very much.

You got a point, maybe if Saban never dubbed Smile and DokiDoki, then these dubs wouldn’t exist, but at least - It got one thing right, introducing Precure to an American audience, before their “friendly franchise” the Candians, got a taste of the franchise, which was the first one (Futari Wa Pretty Cure or Just Pretty Cure), but to YTV clucking up the timeslot and something else, Max Heart was never dubbed, but the good thing is that unlike Glitter Force, the the background music and other soundtrack elements remained, and in a alternate reality or right now, had Ocean Productions still dubbing the franchise, they would brought it to America, and the current series they would dub would be KiraKira (I have a love-hate relationship with that season, my favorite character from that is Yukari, because she is awesome), and the next season for next year would be, Hugtto, and then Precure would be up there with Dragon Ball and Demon Slayer (maybe…. I guess 😂.)
