It will disappear once the display gets replaced, as well as auto brightness.

Hi. I run my own repair business. It's a possibility your technician damaged the proximity sensor on the speaker when swapping it onto the replacement. Either that, or it damaged the ribbon cable on the earspeaker/prox sensor and swapped it out with a different one. This is a common occurrence with techs who aren't careful. Hope this helps.

@@BrookshirePhoneRepairno, the reason is because on iphones theres some connector things that communicate with the iphone AND face id. Each iphone has their own so if it replaced with another iphone screen or fixed, the phone might get confused cause its not getting data its supposed to and will disable face id.

Only Apple will fix the problem when you take to Apple Store for repair.

@@soyavrimx which is why I said the tech who repaired it either broke the original proximity/earspeaker that is part of face it OR replaced it with a different one because he ripped said flex cable. Thus, disabling face id functionality. There's absolutely no reason why face id shouldn't work on an XR after a screen repair was performed correctly.
