Not little but drastically I can say about my redmi 5 ...i debloated phone and restart my phone in every 2-3 days....my vacant ram is around 1.8 gb of 3 gb....and i superseded the mi launcher with olauncher as it uses only 30mb ram but mi launcher used around 150mb ram

This was 1 question I had in mind for a long time.... But, if the performance and battery issues are caused by 1 or 2 bad apps running in the background (which we may not be aware), then results would be totally different.

The trick is to not to restore from backup. The slowness would return if you restore.

Upload everything manually it's way more effective as well just make sure you quadruple check everything such as important accounts, emails, websites, contacts and passwords as well! It's actually a very good idea too write ✍️ everything down in a notebook 📒 and so you always have excess too critical information!!!!​@@Jason-gk1jb

that was a good test bud. answers a big question. one thing i did finally was turn off all animations or gestures. i donno what i turned off exactly now lol..i think it was animations though. maybe gestures too. but anyways.. wow was i blown away how much faster my 9+ was. snappy as all. like pressing on apps and stuff, there is no reaction time. and just shits n gits to it lol...3 years with the phone and you'd think i done do that by now . i didn't think it would of made much of a difference. and really, it kinda doesn't matter but it is nice to see the true power of the 9 :) hey, i have seen a considerly big drop in battery life these past few months though and it also seems to kinda give up on running VR and other apps at the same time. the secodary app if there is one running stalls out and needs rebooted. like the phone just says ok screw this work load, we don't need that second one running lol...have you noticed any less performance with yours? just curious. oh i got the SD btw.

Also make sure to backup all your important data because if you don't then after factory reset you lose all your internal data as it basically resets all your settings and it'll function the same way when you first time bought your phone from the store

Alright LEAKSTER, your test results are contrary to lots of peoples' anecdotal experience and I have a theory as to why! If I run a PC benchmark on my computer with the OS freshly installed to the latest greatest NVMe SSD drive and again with the same OS installed years ago to a decrepit failing mechanical disk drive booting over USB-- benchmarks results could be basically identical (depending on the benchmark)! What gives? Benchmarks heavily focus on CPU and GPU performance, not random read/write. But even where they do measure random read/write speeds they are measuring from a freshly written contiguous file (which even then is likely actually just a copy of that data regurgitated back from the ROM controller's RAM cache 😱). What we care about as users is that system libraries and user databases load quickly. These get chunked and scattered throughout the filesystem with every save operation, app revision, and Android update. These types of reads are probably the single biggest delta that comes from a factory reset, and also happens to be something that is all but invisible in benchmark results. What we can conclude from this test is that a factory reset does not appreciably improve GPU / CPU performance (duh), but what users really care about is improving the *actual* bottleneck-- to improve overall performance.
