Yeah, this film was especially made for fans. I remembered Jason Blum said it. He and Scott decided it. So it's kinda like an experiment for them to made a movie that dedicated to fans.
@corialicetales5249 Жыл бұрын
I mean they plan for three films and this is Scott first time doing a movie from what I know so I imagine this is a experiment. Good thing they made a lot of money at the box office from the tickets alone

@@corialicetales5249 yeah, first movie of the franchise, a great and a fresh start, honestly, and I'm pretty sure FNaF movie will pave the way for many indie horror games to make their own film. For better or worse.

Yes it’s like they were incorporating different themes to see how well fans responded to different parts so they can see what direction to go in for the next films. It’s a starting point for them and I loved it in the view of it being their first ever movie.

As a fan, I absolutely loved this. There are so many little nods to the franchise that weave their way through the runtime. I spent most of the movie pointing at the screen. The movie really had it's work cut out for it, wanting to push deep into horror and gore whilst also being accessible for it's audience, which is naturally younger than most horror franchises. In an interview, Director Emma Taimi described this movie as "The Ultimate Popcorn Flick" and I wholly agree. This is the kind of movie you bring out every Halloween to get into the spirit. The Fun kind of horror.

As a fan of the games and book (yes, there are books) I really enjoyed the film. I feel like while there were pacing issues, honestly probably down to stuff being cut from the film time and time again, I feel like the film was what it needed to be to get the ball rolling for a series of films, which I have no doubt they will do. Overall, worth the wait, how long it been now? Like 7 years of waiting?

I think I agree, whilst it wasn't everything I'd hoped it would be, it was still a fun and good film, and I loved how faithful it was to the original content. I also like the subtle reference and sounds from the game, it made me nostalgic, I'd rate the movie 4/5, if I wasn't biased it would be a 3.5/5

I was 13 and in 7th grade when fnaf was first released every kid in the school was “jail breaking” their school iPad to download and play it at lunch it soon became a huge game, throughout the school, and the movie was also announced that next summer , im 21 now, and I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting to finally go and watch this, I’m so excited to finally see them on the big screen

I'm pretty curious about the behind the scenes for this film. I recall a few years back that Scott Cawthon explained the reason the film took so long to make was finding the right script. The ones he was given included (but was not limited to) "the pizzeria had an underground lab and the animatronics were military experiments the whole time!", "a boy and his animatronic" and I'm not joking "kaiju FNAF plushies attack Manhattan." Even Scott's own attempts at writing a screenplay didn't work, as in his own words it would have been a "3 hour visual encyclopedia instead of a movie". I'm not even certain if the screenplay Scott ended up choosing made it into the final film, considering how much can change during production.

I'm a fan and I loved it. I think a lot of this film, especially in regards to Lilard, was setup for a lot more in the sequels. If we didn't have this first film as a foundation for the lore the others would probably be much too overstuffed with it, and likely very confusing.
@bee-hx2di Жыл бұрын
agreed! and 100% on the foundation thing, they can't exactly chuck a heap of info into the first film as that would heavily confuse non-fan audiences, to me it feels like they've created a movie that both works as a one-off on its own and also allows for subtle hints to a sequel and a much greater story, and i think the movie does that really well. i also think the questions that arise from things not elaborated on are perfect for the fanbase to do what we've done best since the beginning - theorise :)

I don't know if it's just me (and I think this is a compliment personally) but you're giving Mark Rober vibes, like physically. An Aussie Mark Rober is not something I ever thought I'd see, but hey, that's always cool. Ps: When you talk about it diving in too much into the family side of things, yeah, FNAF is very heavily focused on tragedy, loss, jealousy, it's a compilation of mistakes and tribulations of a man that goes off his rocker and ends up as a serial killer. As a superfan, it's hard to be unbiased about liking this movie, but I'm happy to hear you actually liked it, and you're not even a FNAF fan (maybe you are now, I dunno) anyways, thank you for your review, I think after seeing so many mixed reviews, this was a nice switcharoo on the negativity

I have yet to watch it so Ill update when i do but as a fan that has been 100% in since 2014, this movie sounds amazing. while i understand the human element, to an outsider, may seem like a waste of time when the cool robots are there, its quite the opposite in the community. The fnaf community is so over saturated with animatronics and one of the biggest mysteries in the story are the humans, essentially we’ve been waiting for the human element for years and to finally see that realized, in detail, even at the expense of the animatronics, is perfect for the current state of the fandom
@tyleradams3490 Жыл бұрын
Yup they had me at Jim Henson. Edit: See that's interesting...I feel like the way you capture the spirit of the game is by matching it in terms of the experience that players encounter. The games are 95% tension and jump scares. So I'm confused why they weren't set on giving the audience a boat load of suspense and tension with added benefit of showing carnage. Yeah the fanbase loves to mull over the theories and lore but the game is visceral and straight forward. Easier said than done I guess...my expectations dropped to the floor today. Maybe that's a good thing :) I might like it more now when I see it.

As a fan of the franchise, I think that the movie was very faithful to the games and I found it very fun and pleasing to watch, it kept to the basics of the lore which is what I wanted. So, does it live up to the hype for me? Somewhat, I guess. The screenplay was quite poor and errors with pacing. Also i think that some of the scenes were a bit corny. However set design is a 10/10 for me, as is the practicality of the film. Overall, as a biased fan i guess, I'd rate it 4/5
