Do you want to learn the truth about foam rolling? In this video I present the most recent and solid scientific data on foam rolling and self-myofascial release.
Today, foam rollers, and other similar tools, are more common than ever inside the gyms and more and more athletes are using them on their daily training. The question is, do they actually work and if they do, how you can properly use them?
By the end of this video you will know exactly how you can benefit from foam rolling and how to integrate it on your life and training.

Does this mean that foam rolling before exercise is better than after exercise (for performance and injury prevention)? Great video by the way.

I have never heard of the idea that foam rolling supposedly increases range of motion, I thought the only reason people do it is to relieve tension and relax the muscles after they have become very sore and tense.

11:10 How are you defining "muscle group"? Should I spend 30" on my left hamstring? Or my left leg? Or do I just need 30" for both my legs and I can be done lickety-split?

I'm really surprised it is recommended before rather than after a workout to use a foam roller. Usually we are taught to stretch after a workout rather than before only so I would expect it to be the same before a weight lifting regime. But as far as increasing flexibility makes perfect sense to me. Or did I misunderstand.

You should definitely see my last video is stretching and performance, you will understand a lot around the idea "don't stretch before training". Foam rolling is recommended for both the start and finish of a training session but for different reasons.

@@YiannisChristoulas Yes, definitely. I add it if I have time. Hoping to do the middle and front splits in 6 months. I'm trying your 3 exercises for the front splits with the 3 sets, 30 seconds (pnf if i have time), 6 days a week (most likely go to 4 or 5 since it seems like too much or just lower the intensity of the stretch after 30 days), etc. Side split is actually getting worse at day 8. Might be just because of some other factor and in reality I might just be the same.

Time is limited. IMO foam rolling time takes away from exercise time. ⌚🏋️‍♀️ If you have the time and you enjoy it, go for it. You do you... time waster 😂😅
