I think there is an argument to be made for the existence of God from free will. In all we are is matter, the "natural", then we are only governed by physics. On the macro level we are governed by classical physics and on the micro level our particles may be influenced to some degree by the randomness of quantum mechanics. Either way, if we are governed by the determinism of physics and/or the randomness of quantum mechanics, there are no choices actively being made. Our matter has no free will. We only have the illusion of free will which is the result of many extremely complex physical and quantum interactions. In order to have free will, there must be something greater-than or other-than-but-in-conversation-with matter, something "super-natural", like a soul. This is what hylomorphic dualism suggests, and it fits in nicely with the Catholic viewpoint that we are both body and soul. Our body is governed by the laws of physics (I can only jump so far and will fall over if pushed). But our souls give us free will and the ability to make choices. You can't have free will without God. Thus if we are to believe in free will, we must necessarily believe in God. And to reject God is to reject free will, which is also to reject love and to reject choice and to reject any responsibility for our actions, good or otherwise. This leads quickly to chaos.

The whole concept of free will is that if u read the bible god gave all men free will as a way to test faith. We all ask questions and lose faith but its up to us to find our way back to god on our own journey. Thats the beauty of faith its tested every day but its the journey back to god is the test.

Hi, can you tell me? Does the Catholic Church teach that the state of holiness we reach in this life , is that how we will be in the next? So the holier you are on earth will mean something more in heaven ?

The Anthropic Principle's explanation of all of the fine-tuned Cosmological Constants is A LOT of evidence for the existence of God. It gives us better than a 12 Sigma level of certainty. If you want more than that, you're still going to be unconvinced when you're face to face with the Creator.

This is the puddle problem explained by Douglas Adams years ago. You presume that all existence was made just for you, when in fact you just happen to fit into the parameters that existence gave you. The hole wasn't made for the puddle that fills it. The water of the puddle just happens to fit into the hole because that's its nature.

Einstein denied free will as it requires Theism in his mind. Yet determinism also requires God in deism

As catholic churches my Catholic friend exercised his free will to take me to places of other religions. In Chinatown of New York City the Buddhist temples are more open than the Catholic churches. In New Jersey, there are Catholic churches closed on Sundays. The Hindu and Sikh temples seem to be more open over there. This free will shows the existence of God.

God’s existence is proven within the uniqueness of the human race. Our capacity of free will is an extension of why Jesus came, as a man, to redeem man. Along with free will, we also have a natural law that existed prior to the law of Moses. Humans’ actions are not dictated solely by our genetics - meaning we do not have sex in public like an animal would with the sole purpose to procreate. No animal has the ability to envy why a human is human, so that means there is an intrinsicness to how God adds members to His church. The difference between animals and humans is *capacity* to desire God and be like Christ. Capacity in and of itself is vacant unless it is used/filled. The reason Free Will is still required is because we must choose follow if we are to fill that capacity.

None of your _unsubstationed_ CLAIMS presents as evidence suggesting that this Christian god exists in reality nor demonstrates the historicity of this Jesus.

@@Theo_Skeptomai we have numerous first-hand testimonies and records of many people who were martyred in the first century for witnessing Christ. We have historical proof that Christ did exist on earth for that very reason. The fact that we have free will is the reason why humans and the US have gone through colonial slavery. The idea of slavery totally breaks the concept of evolution. If we didn’t have free will, we wouldn’t have a natural law. Our logic and thinking would solely dance to our genetics.

@Hypnotoad206 No. You haven't ANY firsthand eyewitness accounts of this Jesus. Not a _single one._ For if you did, you would actually identify such an account. A firsthand eyewitness _account_ is one where the author of the account a) identities his or herself, b) states that he or she _personally_ witnessed such events, and 3) provides a valid, accurate, and authentic account of these events. Do you agree?

@@Theo_Skeptomai the Bible and other surrounding texts around the same time period is plenty of proof. The Bible was never written to be a single “book” but rather a compilation of many books that cohesively communicate with each other. The New Testament is full of eye witness accounts. By your logic, what constitutes as an “eye witness?” No one is alive today that has seen Jesus the same as no one today has seen George Washington.
