Would be good additional data in combination with corrosion protection. For lubricity, try pulling a piece of metal across a metal plate treated with oil or grease and measure the resistance with a trigger pull scale or some other scale that u can tie one end of string to and the other end to the piece of metal. Put weight on top of the metal.

they will be equal as far as rust because it is a coating/ sealer. I think the heating really does not allow the product to impregnate the steel. I think it allows a more uniform application/ flow and thinner application. To allow it to penatrate the steel it wouild be have to be heated to a higher temp than 110/ 120 degrees which is about what I think is to the touch. If the steel was heated to a temp to allow it to penatrate the temp would be so high the frog lude would vaporize. My 2 cents.

To me it just makes sense to heat the metal to open the metals pours. We both learned in school what happens when you excite the molecules by heat. They become more open to absorbsiton. I always heat my guns and then put on a film of FrogLube paste on and leave it at room temp overnight. There may be some excess left ,but I then reheat it a little and wipe off with a microfiber cloth. You may remember that FogLube comes in a paste and a liquid like your using. You would have to heat with paste.

I’ll just cut to the chase. I used frog lube cold application for over 10 years. Works like a charm for long storage.

Love your channel! An easy way to test for anti wear, try applying a drop of oil or grease to one cleaning rod and rubbing against it with another cleaning rod pretty hard for about 30 seconds. use aluminum rods . Give that a try using various gun oils and grease.

DUDE!!!, thanks for the kind words and yes..SOMETIME contest will commence.You forgot to mention just ***HOW*** Minty Froglube is. the thing about that stuff is the non toxic qualities and water proofing,also just how easy it is to use. Druthers? you WILL smell like the toothpaste section of your local supermarket. I worked a Gunshow next to a frog lube vender and man, you get used to it..but it is a SERIOUSLY distinct odor. good stuff brother,cant wait to see the results ☆☆☆☆☆ ★★★★★ Seeya Dude

I'm curious how this is going to turn out even though it does not make much practical sense to me. ;-) Guns are not meant to be babied. Another great video. :-)

hey Fred, you really didn't do the test correctly! You should have waited an hour & wiped the frog lube off of the cold side just like you did with the hot side!! Or; maybe you should have done it both ways to really see what's what! Still, very interesting video & I can't wait to see how it turns out!

I've seen a few of your videos now. Curious now though, why don't you cut your plates into separate samples? That way you wouldn't have any one contaminated by any other or the bias of side spots and whatever else. Again, just curious as to the reasoning.
@xxstarforbrianxx9 жыл бұрын
Froglube is ridiculous. I'm sure it works but there's no reason you should have to spend so much on a product and have to heat it up. wtf. Eezox, CLP, or Ballistol for safety. All reasonably priced and proven for years.

Jesse Kamil Both sides protected equally. The heated side helped spread the lube better and thinner so it would use less.
