All of them have failed miserably, shockingly bad in fact, at giving a good reason not to believe in God. Hitchens and Dawkins are horrendous, CosmicSkeptic was pretty darn bad to. Guys, seriously, rewatch these people debating and truly ask yourself if they have a good argument. If they did I'd be an atheist, I am 100% for truth and if atheism was in fact true I'd be atheist but the truth seems to be pointing to God.

Everybody thinking about who win or lose have lost. There is two points of view wich try to explain how reality work. Our goal as an audience is to compare them on their ability to best describe reality. If you think this person have won or lose, you're just stating wich speakers have your preference but it's irrelevant. One person/opinion can be wrong about something but still be extremely persuasive ( every religion other than yours for example ), our goal as thinkers is to confront them to reality in order to conclude wich ones are relevant regarding reality.

He’s nervously moving around too. 1:55:28: Dennis lets on he’s really controlled by emotions, not logic or rationale. #4 good point. Atheist takes up agnosticism when they get pressed to provide evidence for their worldview. Now they've taken up another tactic by redefining atheism to merely a lack of belief. You can have a lack of belief in God in a world where God exists. In other words, atheism is consistent with theism, which is simply absurd.

Great job, Frank. I got a really dark feeling when the moderator asked _"Do you find it problematic or dangerous to have so many young, vigorous God believers?"_ at 2:01:04. Granted, I sense that he is probably scared of the Islamic front, but it sent chills down my spine to think that atheists see us as a threat. As imitators of Christ, we are supposed to be nothing more than humble, servants, carers of the weak, and those who look at strangers/neighbors with love. In fact, the Son of God said this, which I was hoping you'd bring up, Frank, when the discussion was on the subject of the crusades and radicals: *"...an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. These things they will do because they have not known the Father or Me."* (John 16:2) This was spoken to His disciples (us too), but it is also applicable to Islam and anyone who tries to advance their beliefs by violence (Christians are not exempt). *If we know the Father/Son, we know that we are to love our neighbor, and also, not to murder.* God can bring about any outcome without us having to go to war or commit homicide (e.g. floods, pestilence, turning soldiers on each other). Careful, unbelievers, if our claims are untrue, you shouldn't care; exactly as Frank pointed out. Don't allow Satan to arouse anger in your heart towards us, if our beliefs convict your heart of sin. We do not know who you are, or what you do; we cannot judge. Dear reader, Jesus loves you, you're amazing. :)

Anthony Hayden I didn’t say that people become religious to avoid depression. People become religious because they look at the world and think it must’ve come from somewhere. And if there is a creator of this universe then we better find out who he is and what he wants from us. Although coincidentally the most content and the most happy people in the world are religious people and they live longer. There’s been surveys on that and data that you can look up. I think that’s just a bonus. The problem is human beings were not meant to be alone and so when people are alone it goes against their making and that would put them into depression. Psychologist will tell you that the worst thing to do when you are depressed is to be alone, they tell you to leave your house every single day no matter where you go it doesn’t matter, just get around other people. Even if you’re not religious it is good for your health to be around other people because that’s how we were made. Very very few people can be isolated and happy about it. Possible? Yes but very very rare.

Ben Jazz I watched till 1:19:50 and didn’t see ANY evidence. In his first speech he assumed that Christians think 1. Religion is a replacement for science (e.g he’d say “you can test things with science but not with religion,” obviously you can’t test something with the belief of something, that’s what science is for) 2. Religion is based off feelings rather than evidence (he’d be right for religions other than Christianity) 3. Morals come from religion (the belief of god) rather than god himself 4. There is a set time when Jesus will come back and that it was supposed to be short 5. People can see things if they try hard enough (this couldn’t be anymore wrong, nobody can look up in the sky and see whatever they want, it’s basic psychology). 6. A few people at a time and every once and a while claiming they saw a dark splotch moving around in the forest or people seeing lights in the sky are the same as 500+ people seeing, at the same time, a man rise from the dead and disappear into the heavens, at a time where technology could do no such thing, with those 500+ people putting themself in SERIOUS danger after going out into the world claiming they saw it happen. With this amount of people it’s a scientific fact that they saw it happen, the question is were they hallucinating? These are all very wrong assumptions. On top of this, he thinks that because God fits as a better idea in our minds than any other idea means that it is just made up, when that is in fact a great reason to believe God. I believe the reason God fits so good in our minds is simply because he is the only thing that can fill the holes of the unknown, he is just more reasonable. Nothing else could have created beings who possess a consciousness other than a being that shares the same quality, a consciousness. This is why atheists have no way to prove there is a god and Christians have so many reasons to believe god, because a god fits the creation of this world the best. In the second speech he suggested that 1. Just because 1 natural law applies to God, every other natural law does when in reality the idea of God not being able to satisfy paradoxical (another word for contradicting) statements is simply because that statement is contradicting. Another problem is he is comparing a law that takes place only outside of space and time (paradoxes) to a law that occurs only within space and time (cause and effect). These are far different from each other, especially when we are talking about something that is outside of space and time (god). God is limited by nothing, in other words God is limited by paradoxes (which are in fact nothing, since there is no thing that can satisfy a paradoxical statement). God is not limited by the idea of cause and effect because that requires time. So just because God can’t perform paradoxes doesn’t mean he doesn’t transcend time or any other natural laws that don’t require paradoxes. 2. You’re going to remember this one: it is the belief in God that is the source of morals, rather than God himself. Yes, he goes back to this one. 3. Religious people aren’t scared by death and torture. I don’t even need to explain what’s wrong with this one. As a cherry on the top, he doesn’t include any proof up to 1:19:50 (as far as I watched), all he does is fail to refute evidence of God.

@@untrillbo Hey there, Frank's evidence cannot be fully given through a 2 hour debate. However he goes through ALL of the evidence in the book "I don't have enough faith to be an atheist". You will find your answers in there. If you are actually on a truth quest, then read the book where it is all explained. All Frank is saying is this....... Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. If you look at ALL the evidence, then any reasonable person would believe beyond a reasonable doubt that god exists. And if LIE by denying the evidence, as you did in your response, then you aren't actually on any kind of truth quest. Is something worth believing if it’s rational, if it’s supported by evidence, and if it best explains all the data? It is true that the theistic God exists. This is evidenced by the: a. Beginning of the universe (Cosmological Argument) b. Design of the universe (Teleological Argument/Anthropic Principle) c. Design of life (Teleological Argument) d. Moral Law (Moral Argument) And the way Frank starts out is this: What would the evidence have to look like for creation (Intelligent Design) to be true? How about: 1. A universe that has exploded into being out of nothing 2. A universe with over 100 fine-tuned, life-enabling constants for this tiny, remote planet called Earth 3. Life that: • has been observed to arise only from existing life (it has never been observed to arise spontaneously); • consists of thousands and even millions of volumes of empirically detectable specified complexity (and is, therefore, more than just the nonliving chemicals it contains); • changes cyclically and only within a limited range; • cannot be built or modified gradually (i.e., is irreducibly complex); • is molecularly isolated between basic types (there’s no ancestral progression at the molecular level); • leaves a fossil record of fully formed creatures that appear suddenly, do not change, and then disappear suddenly. There is TONS more evidence that Frank considers and explains to arrive at the final conclusion that any rational/reasonable minded person after reviewing ALL the evidence would agree, beyond a reasonable doubt, that god exists. Atheists have Extraordinary FAITH to believe in: Creation without a creator Design without a designer Laws without a lawgiver Programs without a programmer (DNA) Freedom without free will Order without an orderer Morality from molecules Rationality from randomness Good luck if you are actually wanting to review ALL the evidence instead of just dismissing it.

‘The world has no meaning, it’s brutal, it’s bad’ Dennis, you seem to be stuck in a logical quandary dilemma here, you cannot state something is meaningless (which is a moral claim) and proceed to say something is bad (a moral claim). If you declare something as bad, you must have some idea of good, which is entirely why we can recognize evil, because it’s the context of a prior understanding of good. However if the universe is meaningless as you say, then moral talk has no place here, though again we see you are excluding yourself from your own assessment of the universe. In fact, Dennis, you even agree to the doctrine of the Bible that mankind is sinful “we do bad stuff,” what is this bad stuff talk? If the universe is meaningless, then all things are relative (which is self-defeating) and therefore there can be no concept of ‘bad’ or ‘good,’ just do whatever the hek you want what does it matter anyway? Do you see how this is self defeating?

Thanks for the upload, looking forward to watching this. Okay, my observations so far: Dennis made some pretty bold claims that I do not believe have ever been backed up, like Jesus not being seen as diety until 300 years after the fact. He also says that people probably lied about the resurrection but offers no explanation for why so those same people died for something they knew was a lie. I don't know many people who would ake up a lie just so they would be removed from those house, beaten, shamed and killed. That just seems odd. Dennis doesn't seem to understand why we emphasize people dying for a message. Christians don't believe in Jesus because a bunch of people died. We believe in him because a bunch of people died and claimed to be witnesses to his resurrection. There's a difference. It's easy to die, people die all the time. It's not so easy to die for something you *know* is false. Dennis alp makes a mistake I see often made by atheist. Christianity is not about Jesus coming down to round up all the sinless people and bring him to the faith. It's about him coming to a world where every single person is a sinner and trying to help them. The fact that God's church is full of sinners should not come as a shock since God's church is made *for* sinners. Another problem is that Dennis says Jesus was a good moral person. Well, a good moral person would not go around saying they are God. Good moral people don't do that... Unless said person actually is God. Something I believe Dennis said Jesus never claimed to be. Then there's the problem of morality. Dennis says that Hitler was wrong because he went against the overall wishes of humanity. When frank poses the question of if "Hitler would be right if he brainwashed the planet to thinking killing jews, gays, etc was okay" Denis *still* says that Hitler would be wrong. That does not make sense. He basically refuted himself and proved that he does not actually believe that the majority is right..
@CelticSpiritsCoven
@CelticSpiritsCoven 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, Dennis lost on that Hitler question. First he says that morality is defined by Democracy (am using the word democracy to state the "majority of people") Then if Democracy says that something bad is good, then that goes against his own personal humanist religion belief of what is good or bad. It's a personal belief, it's self defeating in it's own context. At one time in the world Democracy said that slaves were good. If Dennis were correct about Democracy, then he would have to assume that slaves were good. But he isn't. So he is stealing from god to make his case.

@@captanblue Something that may help you next time you are in that type of debate... When they can't answer, tell them to not borrow from god by telling us what is right or wrong. They know killing for fun is wrong because god wrote that moral law onto their conscience. And if he didn't write that moral law onto your conscience, then please show us the chemical formula for morality since in their world view, morality (which is immaterial) somehow got inserted into the material through the process of evolution. That is some strange superstition for sure, just like a Witch who uses non-toxic ingredients for an evil potion, but puts in a magic spell (immaterial) into the potion (material), and somehow magically that non-toxic brew BECAME a toxic brew! So demand the chemical formula for morality. And then say, "I don't have enough faith to believe in the superstition of evolution putting the immaterial into the material if you have no evidence to support it. In fact, more evidence supports that god put it into your consciousness than imagining that a rock can tell you what to do." They get super angry at this one! You might get lucky and they will go silent with absolutely no retort. But you will probably just get rage. It takes TIME to someone to completely change their world view. Except that they won't stop existing. I agree America has many problems such as the corporate crony capitalist system, health care, wages, and hyper individualism, but all you really even need to do better than most people in most other countries is an associates degree which cost Free-15k depending on which college you go to contrary to popular belief; then with a little effort and motivation, you can get a great job!
