This brought Greatman Takit's song 'Holy Spirit' to mind. God can kill and can make life. He is the owner of life. He is God. Thank you very much, Pastey!

Years ago, I was drawn to a deeper relationship with God by some group of people. But one day, I found they also were of this "God does not kill" doctrine. I didn't know so much but I knew Ananias and Sapphira and they couldn't explain that away. He is God! He is the Creator. He is not subjected to his commandments and yes! He is always good. Thank you Pastey for this profound study. I now have more verses to study and back this up.

I used to ponder a lot about these things and as I started to study the word with the help of the Holy Spirit,he has been giving me more understanding. If someone gives you something to hold it for them and they come back and ask to have it back, they are not a thief. They are only taking what is theirs. So God gives us life and he can take it. Also, God literally calls himself The Terrible several times in scripture. Which translates to One that is to be feared or dreaded. And He also says severally that who are we to dare question what He does with his creation? Who can tell the potter how He should mold the clay? The psalmist said that he tried so hard to understand how God runs the world but it became too difficult to comprehend so he just left it to God and will rather focus on serving and honoring him. It is so fascinating that this very same God is also so loving and so kind, tender and patient with His children. He is to be awed. Thank you for these videos Pastey, I’ve learned a lot.

So much unlearning to do mehn! 😢 Joined these folks on campus that literally took me through serious exegesis on how God cannot kill, trying to debunk every scripture that clearly stated that they were wrong! Thank God, I was wise enough to withdraw when I did. Thank you so much for touching on this, clears up a lot for me!
@osagierichie4010Ай бұрын
Unlearning khe? Because a notable figure is the one explaining? No time to run through the things he said but apostle is wrong on this topic I wasn't planning to respond till I saw your reply What is best for you is understand what those people are teaching you in depth and place it side by side with what you are hearing now Theological accuracy is not a matter of status or eloquence oo.... better take your time with these things Questions to ask is God's character consistent or inconsistent? Was death a creation of God? What exactly is death? When Jesus defeated the power of death what was the Bible saying? Just take your time and learn well Gracias❤

@@moyinoluwanwevo James 1:13-17 [13]Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: [14]But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. [15]Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. [16]Do not err, my beloved brethren. [17]Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. From your statement God can do anything because he is God but that is wrong ...evil is not found in God as seen above ....James said in him is no shadow of turning... Having established that it is now our job as serious bible students to engage hard work in Bible study and find out why God looks like a killer in the old testament....trust me there is an explanation to them...and obviously I don't plan to do all of that here.... Bible study is hard work...God character is consistent...God's judgement is not wickedness...death didn't come from God ....death definitely isn't worked by God .... All of these needs hours and hours of theological dissection to get the full imports and you can't in few minutes try to give simplistic answers to complex questions....that will be a reductionist approach.. With all due respect and in all honesty this video shows the man of God trying to explain what he hasn't properly studied even from the analogies and examples he gave...come on! Those are not contextual at all

This made me really see the authority of God and to reverence God more. If I were to summarize one of the points from today, it is that Judgment on wickedness is not murder, and then when God judges the wicked, it doesn't change the fact that He is righteous. And He is God. He has the power to give and take life, we don't. I was blessed by this. Thank you sir!

Thank you so much, sir, for bringing clarity and balance to this matter. God gives and takes life, but if a human takes a life, it's considered murder because humans cannot give life. The doctrinal framework dictates that there is judgment at the end, and there was judgment before. God bless you, Apostle.

Thank you for this teaching, Pastor. I’m still processing your point that God, as the giver of life, has the authority to take it away. It has left me wondering: If God does take life, how would that happen? Through sickness? An accident? In my own study, I’ve leaned on the belief that God doesn’t cause sickness, especially since we never see Jesus put sickness on anyone - in fact, scripture often says, “He healed them all.” Your explanation, that Jesus not killing anyone doesn’t mean God cannot, has given me more to reflect on and raised additional questions.

If I may give you this to consider: every single breath taken by every human being is a gift from God. Every single breath, every single heartbeat comes from Him. In Him we live and move and have our being. He does not have to even lift a finger to cause breath to cease or a heart to stop.
@osoluchijioke4827Ай бұрын
God allows sickness See understand that whatsoever penance ranging from the least weighty to that of eternal consequence like the second death(hell) is what Scripture calls Judgement And judgement comes after there has been a pre warning Its not God delights in killing infact if anything he very much doesnt want to but what u get when u create beings of free will is that a system of judgement is created that cannot be overturned even by his own will God can bring judgement of death through anything like allowing the Devil, sending messangers like Jehu in the Bible or make a natural cause of sickness take breathe out of a pesin In either ways Judgement and penance can spell Death and God administers that judgement not that he is a killer or murderer seeing as he gives his only son for us
@moyinoluwanwevoАй бұрын
People don't die from sickness and diseases alone 😊. Have you heard about stories of some men of faith? Papa Idahosa for example? For some it's calling them home to rest and to some it's instant judgement. That's why He is God!

Addressing the question whether God kills, I understand that there are major problems with thinking God does not kill: -To say that God doesn't kill would suggest that I've come to a deeper meaning to everything that was plainly said in the Bible. It's clear and so "God doesn't need PR agents to try and clean up the Bible and make it more palatable" 😅 There is God and I'm him. There are things that are off-limit for me but not off-limit for God. Because God gave life, he can take it. I didn't give life and so I cannot take it. -An overly simplistic understanding of the implication of God killing. -The damage to eschatology ( study of end times). The major doctrinal framework for proving that there is judgment at the end is that there was judgment in the past. 2peter 2:4-6, Jude 4-7

100DOD: DAY 92✅ This was powerful Apostle, thank you for answering this question, I’m blessed by this. 🔥 A major takeaway for me is that some things are off limit because there’s a creator and I’m not him, if God has the power to give life, he’s not a murderer if he takes it - judging him through that lens would be judging him like a human. Thank you so much for this expository teaching. If you don't mind Pastey, i will like to ask about the widow who gave all she had at the temple and Jesus commended her. There was a teaching of yours where you said that there are some things that is not ours to give like school fees and house rent, etc. the part that went viral was where you said it is wrong for a pastor to ask for seeds in a school, the question i noticed people asked was that was Jesus wicked from collecting the widow's money(I'm paraphrasing this). Because some were saying you are Pst Damina second but i wish i could tell them to go and watch the full video to understand what you meant. The statement has been taken out of context so I'm hoping you can explain that part of Jesus and the widow. God bless you sir.
@deborahowhonda81082 ай бұрын
The widow giving her all has nothing to do with school fees or rent. Pastey said it is unwise to give the school fees and rent. The Bible encourages us to give because it is more blessed to give than receive. We shouldn’t attach our relevance to material things. If you want to sow a seed(all you have) for the spread of the gospel why should you be stopped if it’s from your heart? This should even be our disposition as children of God, we ought to carry the spread of the gospel on our head.
@oyindamolaoduntan65902 ай бұрын
@@deborahowhonda8108 I understand this, I was only giving the circumstances where the question came from. I listen to Pastey a lot, I'm only saying if he could explain the part of the widow because I'm actually tired of answering some weird questions. It'll be nice to get a straight answer from someone more knowledgeable. The school fees I mentioned truly has nothing to do with the widow, but he mentioned school fees in that video so I was using that as a reference point so he can remember, not for the question I'm asking.
