When you think about it, this would make a cool escape route or secret entrance. Say it were bigger and in a house but looked like an odd piece of furniture. Then a spy or super hero opens it and goes down a slide which takes them to an underground laboratory or something. 👽👍

that for me seems more cruel and inneficient than a real one 1. only one at a time 2. they dehydrate to death, a much worse fate than getting dissolved in acid in my opinion 3. the energy is wasted 4. the noise that must come from the bug trying to escape 5. it's less foolproof than a real one, as they immediately snach the bug, instead of that weird mechanism

All right kids I'm going to teach you how it actually works first the fly goes into the flytrap and then if the fly touches the tiny hairs inside the plant's mouth after a couple seconds the fly trap will close its mouth and eat the fly

Fun fact:venus flytraps muth also acts as it's stomach when the mouth/stomach is sealed it will turn the insects into nutriseous soup but the differrent kind and the insect has to move inside of it to touch the hairs inside the walls so it just tells the plant -hey there is food- here and then boom its dead insect -hey you learn sometging new everyday-
