I grew up with Tamiya and Kyosho. That’s all there was. With that being said, this one is a no-brainer; I’m getting it in electric lime with the optional LEDs. As far as I’m concerned the Carisma and the Element Knightrunner got nothing on this one..and unlike FMS, I know that when there is replacement part number in the back of the manual, that will be the actual correct number. Finally, the Gods have spoken; a fully licensed TRD Pro, from a quality Japanese manufacturer, with optional F/R LEDs at a reasonable cost, that does more than 2MPH.

The Element Knightrunner is actually meant for crawling and scale overland stuff. This Kyosho one is a basher and not for crawling. Two very different chassis and suspension setup
@goldenmanuever11768 ай бұрын
@@monchichis333 I understand that completely. The reason why I like this truck is this the first thing in years, possibly decades that bridges the gap between goofy and goofier. The hobby has been taken over completely by the crawler crowd, yelling portals, portals portals and going 1.5 miles an hour, and then on the other hand, you have the basher crowd driving 75MPH into a wall in something that doesn’t even look like a truck. This bridges the gap between scale, realism and going more than 1.5MPH; something the hobby has lost.

Would really like to mount that body on a crawler.
@2Geek2bChic11 ай бұрын
I really like the look of this body and I think the wider fenders give it a trophy truck vibe. There are a couple of things that stood out in your running video that I'm not a fan of though. Firstly are the gigantic holes in the wheel wells that allow you to see all the internals and completely through the truck. It looks like the body sits up way too high and I don't like being able to see the entire chassis below the doors, however it appears that the mounts are adjustable so it's probably fixable. Secondly, while I appreciate the extra padded body supports they didn't stop the body from looking like it was moving around on rough terrain but again I think this issue may be fixable as well. I'm also curious if this comes with a scale light kit and if so it would be nice to see a future video that addresses some these issues. 🤓

That is actually a pretty good set of bones and geometry to make a Gen1 Humvee from...much interest in Kyosho again for me, would love to see them make a 2wd version of their Fazer platform as well.
@derrickwilliams290311 ай бұрын
Except that it doesn't have portals like the Gen1 Humvee, so it's lacking ground clearance and would look pretty weird.
@verigone267711 ай бұрын
@@derrickwilliams2903 why I said good bones and geometry...meaning there is still work to do. Why would adjusting for portals scare me off? I would be rebuilding the front and rear bumpers either way...so the added ground clearance from fabing portals can be taken up by a beefier more functional bumper maintaining the rather good scale proportions....also, I would say that this RC is sitting about a portal axle too low from what I know from seeing them in person...so, I guess we can agree to disagree?
@derrickwilliams290311 ай бұрын
@@verigone2677 I think you are underestimating the difficulty of adding robust portals to something which doesn't have portals available for it and was never designed to have portals. Also, it would likely push out the wheels even wider and mess with the proportions. But good luck!
@verigone267711 ай бұрын
@@derrickwilliams2903 I think you mis understand, I am not trying to make the thing into a stage 3 comp truck...the plan is to relace all of the suspension with hand bent/milled parts...so adding portals to the punch list really isn't much more. Also, for design, any 1 to 1 will do just fine as will any under drive config, so again, I am not seeing this mythical wall of hard here....were not talking about something in 1/24 scale here, or someone who regularly gives a shit about off the shelf parts availability, lathes, mills, bandsaws, and brazing torches exist for a reason.

@XWXW-lk4jf11 ай бұрын
I was thinking the exact same thing. It kind of ruins the scale looks too. Just way too high. It also looks like it lacks protection from debris getting in the chasis. Excessive debris in the chasis is a major pet peeve of mine because you end up having to stop and clean it constantly. Plus, there is no ability to drive in snow with a set up like this. Offroad trucks need inner chasis protection for goodness sakes! I gues you could use some heavy duty tape to try and seal it more but that is not ideal. That issue is a big enough one for me where I will pass on this one. The Traxxas Maxx with a scale body will suffice for now. It offers plenty of protection and more speed anyhow. Will wait until someone makes one with more inner chasis protection

I like this truck a lot. I'm in Australia and have placed a pre order on a Traxxas TRX 4 Ford F150 high trail way back in June this year. Still has not arrived and in August a shipping container was turned back at the Port of Melbourne due to containing small amounts of asbestos, this was a Traxxas shipping container. Now I'm getting fed up with waiting and I might get a refund on the Traxxas and get this Kyosho instead. It's quite a nice looking truck. But 1 or 2 small things sort of don't look right to me. The bodyshell sits up really high and looks strange due to seeing this. It's possible to look right through the chassis and body shell. Then the bodyshell also whilst being beautiful to look at actually looks really flimsy for a truck that can reach high speeds and is meant to be a basher. I agree with a comment made by another viewer , this could really benefit from some inner fenders. And the flimsy looking body posts and underside bodyshell locating area looks sort of flimsy too. So for instance if this truck takes a solid hit to the front or rear and breaks the chassis then the bodyshell can't be secured into place. I reckon Kyosho bed a little more development on this truck. Here in Australia this is selling at $759.00 Australian dollars. Not bad and the Traxxas TRX 4 Ford F150 high trail is $1090.00 Australian dollars. Quite a difference. Then a lot of people are critical on the faulty electronics in Traxxas . And how bad Traxxas are to deal with. I certainly don't need that headache either. Especially after the initial purchase price, I don't need any further expenses. Yeh I don't know which I will choose.
