But and here is the kicker there both in a very very very very different situation... playstation is outselling the xbox 1 to 5 nor is playstation plus premium a selling point for playstation. It's not there main thing... Xbox made gamepass more important then there consoles... Very very very important difference.. So on hand you have sony where playstation plus premium is add on that you can take if you so want to... But is doing perfectly fine without having to rely on it... On the other hand you have xbox that is not doing fine at all so it changed it's tactics to gamepass what also have seen a decrease in its users and is not hitting the targets that microsoft has set... I had to cancel, too few releases and PC emulation is obviously much better. Jeanne d'Arc I was playing at 4K with HD texture pack and RetroAchievements, it looks way better than the PS5 version. Paying a premium for lazy infrequent Sony releases was disappointing, I regret subscribing to it for 2 years.

I find myself scrolling through the PS Extra catalog trying to find something I want to play, and finding nothing. The ones I liked I already played, and there weren't many of them: Ghost of Tsushima, Returnal, Ratchet & Clank, and a few others. Everything else is just weird 16-bit indie games, huge flops like Gotham Knights or Thief, boring ass narrative games like Man of Medan, and Ubisoft crap. I know gaming, like any media, is a matter of personal taste, but come on. Plus, most of the monthly games are crap, too. I don't care about some stupid simulator game or Lego game. Once in a while we get some gems, but they are few and far between. So, the most I'll subscribe to now is Essential just for the cloud storage. I tried Premium once for the cloud streaming, but even with my 250gbps internet, it still sucks. One of these days I'm just going to switch to PC gaming. Seems to be the better route overall.

I didn’t buy a ps5 to just play games I’ve already played or ones I was never interested in to begin with when they released. All games that are low budget and before the ps4 should be in a separate category entirely. I shouldn’t have to search through garbage like cats quest and Mr. Hibbi just for me to find a game that should be on the $500 console I purchased. If your game looks and plays like its should be on a ps3 and earlier you shouldn’t be in a list along side games made specifically for the ps5 that aren’t low budget copy paste trash. Meaning if you make an arcade game on the ps5 sorry going into the category with all the PS 1, 2 , 3, Atari, and etc. there is absolutely no reason why those 1000’s of titles should make up 99% of a store for a console sold every 8 years. We going to get to PlayStation 8 and you won’t even be able to find a ps8 game due to how many old games as well as cash grabs that make up the store. If you made a game like fall out shelter or bastion that should stay where it belongs on your phone like all the other mobile garbage.

Answer is yes. Seriously it's pointless. Extra and essential are fine. If Sony ads day 1 games to Premium yeah no it would kill them. 😂 What Sony should do is actually put their live service games on Premium, plus Crunchyroll premium, Beta/tournament access, Competitions challenges/Rewards And promotions for Apple+/D+/ any app which wants get more viewers by having little discount for their services. Also GTA+ or EA Play membership discounts. Also they need have a Vita Emulator now on Premium, and also PS3 Emulator which can let u download games but we all know problem by now which absolutely sucks but hay PC community is trying their best on PS3 emulator. the price increase sucked, the monthly games on Extra have been mid (they add another EA Sports game which, unfortunately, I just don’t care about EA Sports games anymore. They’ll hand over with a bunch of microtransactions that you, the gamer, let EA forcing you to pay up. That’s how greedy AAA companies is), and the Premium classics is nothing but barebones. Here's a question: if a playstation 2 game is playable, through Playstation Plus, can you play the physical copy of that game on the Playstation 5 then? I'm considering trying Premium for 12 months with the Black Friday deals, but the classics catalogue looks weak plus it's stream only. I have a PS3 still, so I may as well skip that and just get mid-tier since the PS3 will let me play any PS1-2-3 game. The only downside to the PS3 is the controller isn't as good at the PS4, but oh well.

I think it’s pretty good, I love playing Legend of Dragoon, Sly 1, and Daxter again. However, it’s not enough to getting it for the average gamer. We need a lot more classic games and hopefully someday PS3 games.

Correction - PS+ Premium is not $20 a month. It is $18 if you pay monthly or $13.34 if you pay annually.

I don't like Sonys more recent PS1 emulators. They have forced texture filtering which makes the games look like N64 games. The PS1 emulator on PS3 was much better.

playstation premium is not worth the price it dosent have enough content this tier switching is exactly why i dont buy games digitally because i dont want to worry about subscription and content leaving the service the only reason i have extra tier is because some of the dlc for the games that i play were bumped up to extra

Ill be going down to essential as they remove games on extra and i dont use the premium part, and i dont have lots of free time to play through games quickly, essential means i keep the 2 games a month as long ss i subscribe to it and cloud saves makes a good bsck up

I was excited when they added the original Resident Evil 1 hoping it would lead to more ps1 capcom games like OG Re2, OG RE3 and Dino Crisis being added but sadly that hasn't happened yet.
