Star Wars Outlaws is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. Set in the Star Wars universe between the events of The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), the story follows Kay Vess, a young scoundrel who assembles a team for a massive heist in order to pay off a crime syndicate. The game is played from a third-person perspective, with the player traversing an open world environment and engaging in various activities.
The development team, supported by Lucasfilm Games and ten other Ubisoft studios, sought to combine canonical elements of the Star Wars universe with their own ideas, focusing on creating cinematic and seamless gameplay. Humberly González provided the motion capture and voice for Kay, while Dee Bradley Baker voiced her companion, Nix. Star Wars Outlaws is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S in August 2024. Star Wars Outlaws is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. The player controls the scoundrel Kay Vess, traversing open world environment on planets and in space while engaging in various activities. Combat combines melee attacks and the use of a blaster, which has several firing modes, including an electromagnetic pulse. Kay can utilize environmental objects, such as explosive barrels, to her advantage. She can also use stealth to sneak past or neutralize enemies. Kay's arsenal includes a grappling hook and an electronic hacking device.[8] Her companion, a small creature named Nix, can scan the environment, interact with objects, and distract or attack enemies.
The player traverses planetary surfaces on a speeder bike and travels between planets aboard a starship called the Trailblazer.[3] The player can also explore the orbits of planets and moons,[11] as well as engage in space combat using the ship's weapons, including a laser cannon and missiles.[12]: 84  Space stations provide hubs for trade and additional missions.[11] By completing game activities, the player earn credits that can be used to purchase customization items and gear.[1] As the game progresses, the player can upgrade Kay and Nix's abilities, along with enhancements for the blaster, speeder, and Trailblazer.[13] The player can acquire new skills and upgrades by seeking out experts and completing their assignments.[1]
In Outlaws, the player encounters four syndicates: the Ashiga Clan, Crimson Dawn, Hutt Cartel, and Pyke Syndicate.[14] Completing assignments for these syndicates influences Kay's reputation with each.[15] A high faction reputation grants access to territories, assignments, contracts, and discounts in faction shops. Conversely, a low reputation may result in syndicates dispatching mercenaries to pursue Kay.[16] The player's decisions and actions throughout the game directly impact Kay's reputation.[15] The game features a six-level wanted system that determines the intensity of Imperial forces' pursuit of Kay for committing crimes.[17] The player can evade pursuit by hiding, bribing, or eliminating enemies.[1][18] Additionally, the game features dialogue tree with answer choices that affect mission outcomes.[19]

The 2002 *STAR WARS BOUNTY HUNTER* game made by the OG devs at Lucas Arts has gotten a Remaster and will be available to play this Thursday. I’ll be investing my money and time into that instead of Outlaws since Ubisoft made it VERY CLEAR that they want us, the consumers, to “get used to NOT OWNING their games.” And that’s *exactly* what I’m gonna do…. *I will not own their games by NOT buying them such as SW Outlaws.* Jango Fett is still a badass compared to this generic, cheap, uglyfied, downgraded female version Han Solo pretender made by Ubisoy.

It's a single player game and doesn't require servers to run, just like old far cry and assassin creed games so it won't get delisted. Crew got delisted because it was completely online , which is obviously still a horrible thing ubisoft did. But don't worry about this game, it's not going anywhere in the next 50 years.

@@americasteam2112 my issue with that game (and other games like Uncharted) is the forced linear game play, and the "for the sake of" missions where you are forced into a path for the sake of their specific game mechanics to complete the levels. that seems very 1990's. Give me an open world where i can do it how i want.

The way the empire runs their government definitely brings into question the politics. I have no interest in this game simply because Ubisoft is the one creating it. After all the stealth nerfs to reduce the amount of experience points you obtain in all their other franchises so they can try to tempt you to pay for xp boosters, I have no faith that this game will be any different than those.

I really appreciate that you're tryin to be objective with this pretty controversial one!👍🏻 But, I think that Ubisoft must get used to not selling their games, so - I won't play it! PERHAPS, abd that's a big "perhaps" IF they'd made a Han Solo game, MAYBE I'd given it a chance, but....as much as I really DO love women and well written, strong female leads like e.g. Ripley or Princess Leia, they've overdone it for me...I'm just fed up with AGAIN playing a five foot tall lady taking on creatures at least double the size of her...it's every second game out there nowadays, and...I'm just done with it...and, so, as you always suggest, I'm voting with my wallet and will NOT support any of their practices...😉✊🏻👍🏻💞🙏🏻

Actually sounds like a cool game, still buying it on sale. I do like ubisoft games but the way they are shoved out the door makes them always feel mid. They can do a function but it feels like a low budget indie game were only the bare minimum is done. Im uncomfortable with buying a $70 game from them. Some snow flakes would complain about dei because talking to a person outside of another incel burns them alive, but I do think its cool and like the trend. But am able to support dei in games from other companies who actually make games worth the prices.
