Look what Takashi Yamazaki did with Godzilla Minus One with the budget he had. This should look like real life, and I should care about at least one of these god damn characters. To be fair, I'll compare it to a TV show. The Vampire Diaries: I care about each of the main characters to varying degrees. Sam and Bonnie are easily the most sympathetic characters and a couple of my favorite, Elena is the least, but you can at least like her and understand where she is coming from(early on at least). The writing for the show is okay, it's a CW show after all so, you know... what can you do?

You know its funny, as someone who never read the GOT books, and never saw the show until mid 2023, id seen the trash that ROP was at its start....and decided it was time to watch all of GOT from start to finish. It was very good. I didnt have to wait for each season to be released. Undoubtedly one of the best series ever overall. I struggled to see why everyone was so divided about the show's conclusion....i mean it had to surpass the books and the lore by the end so some of it was just naturally forgivable. Compared to the ass-grinding slog that is rings of power, the GOT finale at least had compelling action and battles, and some pretty tense/dramatic endings written for characters that the audience deeply cared about WELL BEFORE the finale.

I would just precise that not waiting for the conclusion of your favorite show for 8 years makes a bad ending easy to forgive and forget. 8 years of hypes and people waiting and developing love for the characters truly made the bar quite high. The orcs (most of them even in early illustrations) were always grinch-belly bitchmade goblins holed up in a cave somewhere, and the urukai & higher orcs were the only ones that were the most warrior-built and resembled anything close to what a Warcraft orc is. In WWI/WWII, alot of soldiers were basically the lower orcs. skrunkly ass children who are barely warriors and need numbers, powerful leadership, something that whips them into motivation, mind altering substances if possible, and technological aide to overwhelm something. To be able to use intimidation and brutality in desperation. in order to get over the fact they themselves are browning their own pants.

In Game of Thrones’ universe there are three types of wights: the fire wights from the lord of light which are people who’s memories and personalities are restored but they lack a large portion of their souls, the ice wights from The Great Others which are decomposed zombies that despite having their humanity stripped away they still retain a intelligence albeit limited and also are extremely strong and practically living tanks, and the black magic/dark science wights that are basically Frankensteins and although they retain somewhat of their souls and personalities are mostly mindless servants to their masters such as The Mountain and they have enhanced strength and endurance but unlike ice wights aren’t as decomposed and look more human albeit still deformed and rotten.

I like that 10 minutes after the dwarfs get the ring, they dig too deep and release the balrock.. so without the ring, they would have dug does 10 ft anyway and released the balrock... so the ring was pointless. it took half of the elder durins life to get corrupted, and dig too deep.. but that is what happens when they compress 1000 years, into the same series

It is established canon, not hearsay. And why even bring up Arthur in this context? Pendragon is his family name, inherited from his father. He was always Arthur Pendragon, no matter where he went. But Gandalf uses different names with different cultures, at no point was he ever Gandalf Mithrandir, son of Hugo Mithrandir or anything like that. Though I was mistaken in one thing: I forgot that he first interacted with the Elves in Valinor, who called him Olórin, even before we went to middle Earth to pick up the list of other names, including Mithrandir and Gandalf.

What always surprises me is how they have a canonic choice right on their nose and choose another one. Gandalf name means " Staff elf" in old Norse, thats why they also call him Tharkun. Since his grand plot is recovering the staff maybe they could have integrated that into his name origin.

Actually, Durin's supposed brother was mentioned in the last episode of season 1, and it is mentioned AGAIN here, at the end of season 2 but he never appears. Not even an angle showing his back, just to tease watchers. That makes it even worse. They are not able to write real relations between characters or even just characters, they are not able to make suspense or tease the audience, they are not able to make plot twists... is there something they can actually do right?

The overall impression I got from both seasons is that these writers are "paint-by-numbers" kind of people. Like, they try to create these epic moments because they learned about epic moments in writing class, but the consistently fall flat because we don't care about the characters. They haven't given us any reason to care about the characters. They keep trying to create romantic subplots, but again, we don't care about the characters. They keep trying to give characters powerful death scenes, but again...who cares? Asian elf died in the siege of Eregion, but I don't even know her name, much less care about her. Why the fuck wouldn't they hire talented writers if they're going to spend hundreds of millions of dollars making a show?!?

I agree except for the guy that played celebrimbor. If you look past his lines he has to say his actual acting is great. When he comes out of the spell sauron has him on and he breaks down crying. That's good acting. Period. He was by far the best actor in the whole series and he's gone now. Everyone says the guy playing sauron is a good actor but he's really not. He is the same exact emotion almost the entire time and everything is made to make him the cool guy. Which means he should feel like a good actor because he has the plot to make him look good but instead he just seems. Yeh... okay.

The Battle Of Eregion was such an awesome and well thought-out sequence! I cared sooooo much about all of the characters I had never seen before, and I could really feel how high the stakes were. I believe that the only thing missing that would have made it perfect was Celebrimbor using a shield to skateboard down a flight of stairs, firing arrows all the way down.😑 That song at the end credits was about as inappropriate as you can get in terms of music for the show. Maybe next season it’ll be smooth jazz, or gangsta rap, or country music. I totally hated the episode, and that ending really made me want to vomit. I have really eclectic musical tastes, and I could probably find at least a couple of songs from every genre, not just my favorites, that I could enjoy. So it’s not that I just hate the music, but it’s wildly inappropriate for this show. That being said- maybe it’s actually perfect for this show. If the show was a faithful adaptation of Tolkien’s works, or if it was a well-written original story by the show’s writers that stayed true to the lore and timeline, THEN this song would be inappropriate. But for the most expensive piece of garbage ever made for TV, that loses sight of the true spirit behind all of Middle Earth, makes a mockery of it’s characters, creatures, events, and plot lines, then yes, a death metal song is probably perfect. (And if anyone really couldn’t tell, the first paragraph is said in pure sarcasm)

Technically, both are members of the House of Finwe as well as the two ruling houses of the Teleri. Galadriel's first cousin, King Turgon of Gondolin, was Elrond's great-grandfather on his father's side, which would make them first cousins thrice removed. Everything didnt bother me with this show until the sword part. Anduril was reforged from Narsil the same blade that cut the ring from Saurons hand and the blade that was used to cast a curse on the mountain men that fled when men needed them most That scene was huge because Aragorn finally went away from Ranger and took the mantle of king. The blade scared sauron and offered the ability to even stand a chance in the war by calling upon the army of the dead Idk why this part pisses me off so much lol. Sorry for nerding out 😂
