It’s genius. I’m going to try it. I make my grilled cheese sandwiches in a similar way. I microwave one slice of bread with the cheese on it to melt the cheese. Then I put the other slice of bread on & flip it un-microwaved bread side down onto a freshly buttered skillet. Cuts the prep time down to almost nothing compared to the conventional way.

I use a toaster oven period. My ovens quit working years ago but the cooktop still works. I'll decide what to do when the cooktop dies. Until then a toaster oven does everything I need. Especially since my mom got me a Cuisinart convection/airfry oven!
